Holy Wow RedHead!
May 17, 2007 | 11:43AM
I'm so excited that I had to blog it!
Look what I just found via a comment left on an article at eHow.com?!
How cool is that?! I don't have time to dig into it now, but I'm so all over that later!
Happy Thursday, by the way!
Abi :)

Mar 16, 2007 | 10:59AM
To have time to blog for reasons other than testing to see if we have any bugs crawling around the site! But alas... I need to know if the blog notifications are actually being sent and received and all that good stuff... So.....

To Do List
Feb 06, 2007 | 3:35PM
What remains undone that you have wanted to get done for years?
Hmm...it'd be easier to list what I have accomplished, I think... ;)
That having been said, I'll try to list a few long standing to-do's on my list:
- Organizing my photos
- Updating my youngest child's baby book (right now it's all in a paper bag!)
- Learning how to scrapbook...and actually doing it, (I did buy a how-to book about 3 years ago, so that's a start!)
- Learning how to play the piano, (I did recently buy a used piano, so we'll see...maybe this one will soon be crossed off the list!)
- Doing a better job at replying to personal E-mail, (Oy! Do I ever suck!)
- Planning a 'real' vacation, (this is the year...DisneyLand here we come!)
Ugh...now I have a headache. I better go get busy... ;)

Things that make me wonder...
Aug 11, 2006 | 12:49PM
...about myself.
I'm cleaning out my "My Pictures" folder. I'm trying to organize my colossal mess of family photos, actually. I'm famous for needing to "quickly" empty the photo card so we can take the digital camera to whichever or whatever soccer game or ballet recital or family gathering of the moment with plenty of room available to capture...well, whatever is worth capturing. I always intend to go back later and neatly organize the pictures into tidily labeled and dated folders, truly I do...
Well, whatever...TODAY is the day. My virtual sleeves are rolled up, and I'm organizing these photos into something that would make Martha Stewart proud. I'm determined and all that jazz.
Anyway...that ramble aside, that brings me to the point of this blog entry. Things that make me wonder about myself. How in the world, or maybe more aptly WHY in the world, did I at some point save a copy of the Wienerschnitzel logo in that folder? I'm not a big fan of the hot dog. (Probably could be traced back to that day in High School when they published what they're actually made of in the school bulletin. If you want to keep enjoying them at baseball games I don't recommend researching that mystery; trust me on this one.)
It's a mystery for sure. I decided to blog about it so said logo would not have been saved in vain.

Is anyone else suspicious that I'm just using this "mystery" to avoid the REAL task at hand? Perhaps I should just get back to work, since I've so far organized all of two photos...one being the above Wienerschnitzel logo...ho hum.

Bobby Dearest
Mar 30, 2006 | 12:14PM
I'm addicted to Bob.
I didn't think he was my type at all upon first meeting him, but now I can't stop.
Either that, or I'm using him....to avoid the treadmill.
How callous of me.

Auditory Memories
Mar 29, 2006 | 12:40PM
What song evokes the strongest memories for you? What does it make you think of?
Oh wow....so many to choose from...
I loved listening to my Gramma sing Frere Jacque as a child. She is French-Canadian, and although she has no noticeable accent when speaking, she sings this song with the most lovely French accent....I can still hear it. :)
And hmm.... I'm not sure what it's called, but one of my earliest song memories is singing them around a campfire at summer camp. Yes, it's true... I was a Campfire Girl...lol. I think the one that most strongly reminds me of those times was this title-less little ditty:
"Make new friends, but keep the old... One is silver and the other's gold." And we'd sing it over and over and over and in rounds, etc. Sweet memories... :) (And yes, I do know all the words to Kumbaya if you're ever wondering....hehe.)
Then around 6th grade there was, "Put Another Log on the Fire... Cook me up some bacon and some beans... Go out to the car and change the tire... Then come tell me why you're leavin' me..." Seriously...lol. What can I say...I grew up in a small countryish town, and that was a big hit at the time. I can clearly remember being on a school bus full of kids wailing that little ditty. Yes, seriously.
And then it seems like Jr High was all about rocking the Casbah, Men at Work, the Eagles before hell froze over...and I think it was around then that I bought my very first cassette album... Air Supply's "Lost in Love" album...lol. I could probably still sing that album from beginning to end, word for word.
And High School... High School was wearing my sunglasses at night with Tina Turner and Boy George, (back when it was cool to be as weird as he was)...not to mention She Bopping with Cindy Lauper because Girls Just Wanna Have Fun while they Pour Some Sugar on Me in the Purple Rain because really, We ARE the World, are we not?

Irksome Stuff
Mar 28, 2006 | 4:44PM
I think everyone should read this.
For that matter, this too.....
Seriously, how wrong is it that by way of being already installed on a PC when purchased, Microsoft is allowed to monopolize the browser market with a sub-par product? I mean, I find it extremely hard to believe that IE would be the popular choice with it's required "critical security update" popping up every five minutes or so - if it wasn't already there by default when you first logged onto the Internet.
Personally, I'm embarrassed to admit that I'm still using IE. Why? Probably the same reason a lot of people are, because I've been too lazy to think about doing anything else. And yet, I was one of the last die-hard Netscape users back in the days when it was either/or, for the most part. I only switched to IE when internal stats for the website I was working on at the time showed that most of our customers were IE users. There were occasional differences, and I wasn't as effective when I wasn't seeing exactly what most of them were seeing. So sadly, I joined the borg.
But seriously...why still? No reason that I can think of, so I'm in the market for a new browser. Any super-strong, "I love this browser so much I'd sell my Mother to keep it...", endorsements for a contender...??

All Tempa Cheer!
Mar 22, 2006 | 2:21PM
It's kind of kooky mad how excited I am to have just discovered the bottom of the laundry pile.
I wonder if it's a bad thing that I'm pondering the idea of putting my kids on Craig's List so that I can keep it that way....
Eh, no harm in daydreaming....right??
I wonder why they did name the laundry soap, Cheer? I mean, "Tide" I kind of get... Water and all....the tide washing away the dirt and grime, etc... Am I supposed to be cheer-y while I'm sorting stinky sweatsocks?
I'm really not. And I most especially hate folding the white loads, fyi.
Speaking of which, does a person exist who is able to keep their kid's socks white? Am I a bad laundress because I continue to fail at this task? I tried bleach. I figured if a little bleach is what they call for....soaking the socks in a lot of bleach for 12 or so hours should result in BRIGHT whites, right? Well, no. Just in case you ever think that, the answer is no. What actually happens is the chemicals in the bleach turn your socks into a bunch of loose threads that no longer even remotely resemble socks, or any type of clothing, for that matter. So again, the answer is no...don't try that at home.
/end discombobulated public ponderings

Brain Buster
Mar 20, 2006 | 2:22PM
The Brain Buster sound effect on the Grab.com main page is making me consider driving a stake through my ear....and not in the interest of adding another piercing.... ;)
Is it just me, or does it sound an awful lot like Scooby Doo's long-lost vocal twin?

I lowered my guard...
Mar 10, 2006 | 12:00AM
...and now my favorite pink water bottle has paid the price. It's so sad.
You might remember when I first introduced you to my pride and joy...
And if so, you might remember when I told you the nasty rat had discovered the tale of my prior perjury...
I'm ashamed to admit I let my guard down, and my pretty pink water bottle has paid the hefty price for my error.
We have a webcam in our office that premium members from another website we manage have access to. They can "spy" on the office staff at work...good fun, huh? Well anyway, long story short, this image was captured from the Office Cam feed earlier this afternoon by one of our customers, and posted in my message board on that site.
