Acne Treatment

Acne treatment is as varied as the problem itself. While there are a large number of acne treatment procedures that are home remedies, some clinical acne treatment options are also available.

· Washing with salicylic acid is a known quick acne tips procedure as it helps empty the affected area of its sebum. · A number of antibiotic lotions are available for acne treatment. When used on the surface of the skin, these can control the Propionobacterium acne bacteria. This acne treatment procedure needs to be followed for a minimum of six months. · Tretinoin can be applied on the skin in the form of a liquid, gel or cream. This increases the skin cell production, thereby helping to clear plugged follicles from the skin. One should always use sunscreen along with Tretinoin as it is known to increase sensitivity in the skin when exposed to sunlight. · The application of gels which contain Benzoyl peroxide is also an effective sulphur acne procedure. A thin layer is applied to the skin and it dries and peels the skin, resulting in clearing hair follicles that have been blocked. It also helps curb bacteria growth. · In cases of inflammatory acne, oral antibiotics are often prescribed as a form of acne treatment. These antibiotics work by killing the bacteria that infect the skin. Since this form of acne treatment is long drawn, there are instances when patients discontinue the course midway. Also, a large number of bacteria strains can grow immune to the commonly available antibiotics. · Hormonal acne medicine is sometimes offered to women with acne. Contraceptive pills (oral) that contain progestogen and oestrogen are known to benefit some women. With some others, though, it has been seen that the condition worsens.

One should keep in mind that it is not necessary that the acne treatment that works on someone else will work on you too.
