Gods Children

A Seminary professor was vacationing with his wife in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. One morning, they were eating breakfast in a little restaurant, hoping to enjoy a quiet, family meal. While they were waiting for their food, they noticed a distinguished looking, white haired man moving from table to table, visiting with the guests. The professor leaned over and whispered to his wife, "I hope he doesn't come over here." But sure enough, the man did come over to their table.

"Where are you folks from?" he asked in a friendly voice. “Oklahoma," they answered. "Great to have you here in Tennessee," the stranger said. "What do you do for a living?" "I teach at a seminary," he replied. "Oh, so you teach preachers how to preach, do you? Well, I've got a really good story for you." And with that, the gentleman pulled up a chair and sat down at the table with the couple.

The professor groaned and thought to himself, "Great, just what I need--another preacher story!

The man started, "See that mountain over there?" (Pointing out a restaurant window). Not far from the base of that mountain, there was a boy born to an unwed mother. He had a hard time growing up, because every place he went, he was always asked the same question. "Hey boy, who's your daddy?"
Whether he was at school, in the grocery store or drug store, people would ask the same question.  "Who's your daddy?" He would hide at recess and lunchtime from other students. He would avoid going into stores because that question hurt him so much. When he was about 12 years old, a new preacher came to his church. He would always go in late and slip out early to avoid hearing the question, "Who's your daddy?"

But one day, the new preacher said the benediction so fast, he got caught and had to walk out with the crowd. Just about the time he got to the back door, the new preacher, not knowing anything about him put his hand on his shoulder and asked him, "Son, who's your daddy?"

The whole church got deathly quiet. He could feel every eye in the church looking at him. Now everyone would finally know the answer to the, question, "Who's your daddy?"

The new preacher, though, sensed the situation around him and using discernment that only the Holy Spirit could give, said the following to the scared little boy. "Wait a minute!" he said. "I know who you are.  I see the family resemblance now. You are a child of God." With that, He patted the boy on his shoulder and said. "Boy, you've got a great inheritance.  Go and claim it."

With that, the boy smiled for the first time in a long time and walked out the door a changed person. He was never the same again.

Whenever anybody asked him, "Who's your Daddy?" he'd just tell them, I'm a child of God."

The distinguished gentleman got up from the table and said, "Isn't that a great story?"

The professor responded that it really was a great story!

As the man turned to leave, he said, "You know, if that new preacher hadn't told me that I was one of God's children, I probably would never have amounted to anything!" And he walked away.

The seminary professor and his wife were stunned. He called the waitress over and asked her, "Do you know that man who just left that was sitting at our table?"

The waitress grinned and said, "Of course.
Everybody here knows him. That's Ben Hooper. He's the former governor of Tennessee!"

"The grass withers and the flowers fade, but the Word of God stands forever." Isaiah 40:8

YOU'RE ONE OF GOD'S CHILDREN I SEE THE RESEMBLANCE.
                                 HAVE A GREAT DAY!!!

Thank You God
Apr 18, 2007 | 4:09PM

Thank you God for another day,

And all that a new day can bring:

The sun, the rain, the birds refrain

And all of life’s beautiful things.

The laughter of children at play;

A baby’s very first smile;

Little things that bring a glow

And make our lives worthwhile.

The kindness shown by others

That comes unexpectedly,

But most of all I thank you God

For the life you have given me.

THE FIREMAN
Apr 08, 2007 | 11:45PM

THE FIREMAN

In Phoenix, Arizona, a 26-year-old mother stared down at her 6 year old son, who was dying of Terminal leukemia. Although her heart was filled with sadness, she also had a strong feeling of Determination Like any parent, she wanted her Son to grow up and fulfill all his dreams. Now that was no longer possible... The leukemia would see to that. But she still wanted her son's dreams to come true. She took her son's hand and asked, "Billy, did you ever think about what you wanted to be once you grew up? Did you ever dream and wish what you would do with your life?" Mommy, "I always wanted to be a fireman when I grew up." Mom smiled back and said, "Let's see if we can make your wish come true." Later that day she went to her local fire Department in Phoenix, Arizona, where she met Fireman Bob, who had a heart as big as Phoenix. She explained her son's final wish and asked if it might be possible to give her six-year-old son a ride around the block on a fire engine. Fireman Bob said, "Look, we can do better than that if you'll have your son ready at seven O'clock Wednesday morning, we'll make him an honorary fireman for the whole day. He can come Down to the fire station, eat with us, go out on all the fire calls, the whole nine yards! And if you’ll give us! His sizes, we'll get a real fire Uniform for him, with a real fire hat-not a toy One- with the emblem of the Phoenix Fire Department on it, a yellow slicker like we wear And rubber boots. They're all manufactured right Here in Phoenix, so we can get them fast." Three days later Fireman Bob picked up Billy, Dressed him in his fire uniform and escorted him from his hospital bed to the waiting hook and Ladder truck. Billy got to sit on the back of the Truck and help steer it back to the fire station. He was in heaven. There were three fire calls in Phoenix that day and Billy got to go out on all three calls. He rode in the different fire Engines, the paramedic's van, and even the fire chief's car. He was also videotaped for the local news Program Having his dream come true, with all the Love and attention that was lavished upon him, so Deeply touched Billy that he lived three months Longer than any doctor thought possible. One night all of his vital signs began to drop dramatically and the head nurse, who believed in the hospice concept that no one should die alone, began to call the family members to the hospital. Then she remembered the day Billy had spent as a Fireman, so she called the Fire Chief and asked if it would be possible to send a fireman in Uniform to the hospital to be with Billy as he made his transition. The chief replied, "We can do better than that. We'll be there in five minutes. Will you please do me a favor? When you hear the sirens screaming and see the Lights flashing, will you announce over the PA system that there is not a fire? It's just the Fire department coming to see one of its finest Members one more time. And will you open the window to his room? About five minutes later a hook and ladder truck Arrived at the hospital and extended its ladder Up to Billy's third floor open window 16 firefighters climbed up the ladder into Billy's room.

With his mother's permission, they hugged him and held him and told him how much they loved him. With his dying breath, Billy looked up at the fire chief and said, "Chief am I really a fireman now?" "Billy, you are, and the Head Chief, Jesus, is holding your hand," the chief said. With those words, Billy smiled and said, "I know, He's been holding my hand all day, and the angels have been singing." He closed his eyes one last time.

This story is powerful and there is nothing attached, uplifting stories are one of the best gifts we receive. There is no cost but a lot of rewards, let's continue to uplift one another.

Purpose of a Dog - from a 4yr. old

Purpose of a Dog - from a 4 yr. old

How true...

Being a veterinarian, I had been called to examine a ten-year old Irish Wolfhound named Belker. The dog's owners, Ron, his wife, Lisa, and their little boy, Shane, were all very attached to Belker and they were hoping for a miracle.

I examined Belker and found he was dying of cancer. I told the family we
couldn't do anything for Belker, and offered to perform the euthanasia procedure for the old dog in their home.

As we made arrangements, Ron and Lisa told me they thought it would be good for the four-year old Shane to observe the procedure. They felt as though Shane might learn something from the experience.

The next day, I felt the familiar catch in my throat as Belker's family surrounded him. Shane seemed so calm, petting the old dog for the last time, that I wondered if he understood what was going on. Within a few minutes, Belker slipped peacefully away. The little boy seemed to accept Belker's transition without any difficulty or confusion. We sat together for a while after Belker's death, wondering aloud about the sad fact that animal lives are shorter
than human lives.

Shane, who had been listening quietly, piped up, "I know why."

Startled, we all turned to him. What came out of his mouth next stunned me. I'd never heard a more comforting explanation.

He said, "People are born so that they can learn how to live a good life -> - like loving everybody all the time and being nice, right?" The four year old continued, "Well, dogs already know how to do that, so they don't have to stay as long."

Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak kindly.

May you always have LOVE to share, HEALTH to spare and FRIENDS that care

If you make the Most High your dwelling---even the Lord, who is my refuge---then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent.

Somebody's Raising Their Child Right!
Feb 25, 2007 | 8:33PM

SOMEBODY'S RAISING THEIR CHILD RIGHT!

One Nation, "Under GOD"

One day, a six-year-old girl was sitting in a classroom.
The teacher was explaining evolution to the children.
The teacher asked a little boy:

TEACHER:
Tommy, do you see the tree outside?

TOMMY:
Yes

TEACHER:
Tommy, do you see the grass outside?

TOMMY:
Yes.

TEACHER:
Go outside and look up and see if you can see the sky.

TOMMY:
Okay.
(He returned a few minutes later)
Yes, I saw the sky.

TEACHER:
Did you see GOD?

TOMMY:
No.

TEACHER:
That's my point.
We can't see GOD because HE isn't there.
HE just doesn't exist.

A little girl spoke up wanting to ask the boy some questions.
The teacher agreed.

LITTLE GIRL:
Tommy, do you
see the tree outside?

TOMMY:
Yes.

LITTLE GIRL:
Tommy do you see the grass outside?

TOMMY:
Yessssss!

LITTLE GIRL:
Did you see the sky?

TOMMY:
Yessssss!

LITTLE GIRL:
Tommy, do you see the Teacher ?

TOMMY:Yes

LITTLE GIRL:
Do you see her brain?

TOMMY:
No.

LITTLE GIRL:
Then according to what we were taught today,
she doesn't have one.

II CORINTHIANS 5:7 "
FOR WE WALK BY FAITH, NOT BY SIGHT "

I love this one! Especially today with prayer restricted in schools
