Greetings and howdy to all those reading my blog! It's the first time I've ever posted a blog so bear with me; I'm not sure how this is done. Who's "Berferd"? Well, my name is Randy, and I live in the United States--Indiana more precisely. Hartford City is more exact, and Nowhere, USA, is right on the money. lol I'm a 36 year old SWM. Plus I'm new to this area and don't know anybody that I'm not related to. (I prefer to date outside of the family. Call it a personal preferance if you wish. lol) I like adding people, and yes, I know I'm older than most of the visitors to this site, but I figure that there has to be other people here my age somewhere. Age has always been a relative term to me (thanks to my education) and I've no problems chatting/talking with people both older and younger than I am.
I was born in Texas, lived in Kansas until I was ten, and then we moved to Kansas, and then Nebraska. When I was 23 dad retired and moved to Indiana. I figured I'd move here sooner or later because I'm related to everyone here, I moved with him and the rest of my family.
Now I'm 36. I've had multiple sclerosis since 1995 and it's cost me three careers already--I've been a factory worker, an LPN, and a health educator at a local rehab unit. I got my bachelor's from Ball State University in 2002 at Muncie, Indiana, and I attended a number of schools back in Nebraska because I couldn't figure out how to pay for college. (You know what? Going to college costs money and lots of it. lol)
So who the hell if Berferd? "Berferd" is just the name I use on the web. It came from when me and some friends wanted to form a "band," and we were about as unique a band as we could get because our main objective was to laugh. I, "Hymie Berferd," played the tuba. We also had "Jaques Strapp" (Devon on vocals and strum guitar), "Mortimer Snerd" (Sean on the drums), and "Bart Clodwater III" (Jason on harmonica).
I tell y'all what, there's nothing funnier than listening to "Wipeout" played on the tuba with drums added. That was the only song we ever taped because the only other song we knew was the Budweiser theme from the ads that were so popular back then. (Hey, two of the people in the band didn't even know how to play their instruments, so why be serious? lol) In high school I was also into soccer, weight lifting, and track aside from the marching band.
Anyway, that's my blog. Take it or leave it.
