Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their  shoes.  That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

"Gee, do you mind if I bake a few more pies for the bake sale? And I'd love to chaperone the preschoolers on their field trip if no one else would mind. It seems no one ever calls me to volunteer for anything else."
