My daughters Birthday/ And oh gee DRAMA
Jan 22, 2009 | 9:30AM

Todays my daughters 13th birthday. Amber has grown so quick. Time has flown so much. Times have changed and so many new and different things have came and gone. The reason for this for a bit of family DRAMA. I was never close to my mom, past few years I have tried to allow my children to get to know her if you will. Since she is their Grandmother. Mom always put on a show like she cared but you never knew if she did or not cause she played the card with others that she didnt. And recently many things have come up to where I dont speak with her. And I have left my kids where they can communicate with her since she is their Grandmother. to only find out she takes her 2 Grand-daughters off her "friends list". Does she realize how hurtful that is? She dont call write or message any birthday greetings. Me and my sister Tina are Not even asking for her to send them material things. I mean a child sees when they are loved. Why do something like this? Toy with their emotions? But then I guess when  your on a string by someone elses hand also known as your baby daughter (our sister Elizabeth), and you jump to her every whim, and you could care less what the world is like around you. And when one dont know what morals, respect, love or any of that is then what do you expect but all this BS. I have always tried to stay quiet and just let things go. But you guys insist on trying to do things to upset me or get me started to anger me. See I have learned the best medicine for that is to IGNORE IT. You guys can sit there be miserable, pick fights with whom ever, do whatever you wish. I am proud of who I am and what I have become. ARE YOU? Elizabeth you should be ashamed of your self you have kids you should not be acting like this towards your Nieces and Nephews. Stop playing internet games and like you said through jimmys errrr wait Jimmy said Grow up. Boy it never ends. Now honey I have to go and get some sleep I have to work tonight. But if you would like to leave some really silly comments do so cause I aint sweatin ANYTHING!!!!! I got bills to pay the HARD WAY.

  YOUR SISTER ALWAYS- Lynn

(no matter u like it or not)

And just incase some dont know who my mom is heres a blog she had written for my daughter when I guess she did love her. Such a pitty the world is so messed up ya know. I guess it makes you feel pretty big when your 22 and you can pick on a 12 & 13 yr old child. Your a big kid now arnt ya. WOOOOOW. Anyway all heres moms blog site and look on mom page baby sister is none other than babymama86

Lets write it America
May 18, 2008 | 4:22PM

*I would like to Thank Devinsgramma for all the info below. (this is whom I had snagged every word from) And so Agree to.

Let's Write It!!!!

I know this has been around before, but sometimes it bears repeating!!!

LET'S DO IT!!!!!
WRITE IT ON THE BACK OF YOUR ENVELOPES

I THINK THIS A GREAT IDEA. I WILL START WRITING THIS ON THE FRONT OF ALL MY ENVELOPES, TOO!

You may have heard in the news that
the Post Office < /I>    has   been forced to take down small posters that say
'
IN GOD WE TRUST '

The law, they say, is being violated.

Anyway, I heard proposed on a radio station show, that we should all write

' IN GOD WE TRUST '  on the back of all our mail...after all, that is our national motto and it's on all of the money we use to buy those stamps. I think it's a wonderful idea.

We must take back our nation from all the people who think that anything that offends them should be removed.

If you like this idea, please pass it on. It has been reported that 86% of Americans believe in God. Therefore, I have! a very hard time understanding why there is such a mess about having '
In God We Trust' on our money and having God in the pledge of Allegiance.

Could it be that WE just need to take action and tell the 14% to sit down and shut up?

If you agree, pass this on again, if not delete.

Again Thank You Devinsgramma....

Also I noticed at the end it says if you agree pass it on if not delete. That I DO NOT AGREE WITH! If you DONT Agree GET THE FREAK OUT!!! And STAY There. Sorry for hurt feelings but this is America and our Motto. Like it or Leave it.

Patrick Swayze Has Pancreatic Cancer
Mar 07, 2008 | 8:40AM

Patrick Swayze, who starred in such blockbuster films as
Dirty Dancing and Ghost, has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer , according to media
reports. While little has been reported about the 55-year-old actor's
condition, the news casts a spotlight on this often fatal form of cancer .

The pancreas is a long, flat gland that lies in the abdomen behind the
stomach and produces both enzymes that aid digestion and certain hormones that
help maintain the proper level of sugar in the blood.

The American Cancer Society estimates that 37,680 Americans (18,770 men and
18,910 women) will be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2008. About 34,290
Americans (17,500 men and 16,790 women) will die of pancreatic cancer in 2008,
making it the fourth deadliest cancer.

In a statement published in People magazine, Swayze's doctor, George
Fisher, MD, an oncologist at Stanford Cancer Center in Palo Alto, Calif., said,
"Patrick has a very limited amount of disease and he appears to be
responding well to treatment thus far. All of the reports stating the time
frame of his prognosis and his physical side effects are absolutely untrue. We
are considerably more optimistic."

Swayze's diagnosis was initially reported by the National Enquirer
and New York Post, which both suggested that the cancer is more
severe.

To find out more about this form of cancer, WebMD spoke to Gagandeep Singh,
MD, director of hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery at the John Wayne Cancer
Institute at Saint John's Health Center in Santa Monica, Calif., and a
spokesman for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCan), based in El
Segundo, Calif.

Is Patrick Swayze a poster child for this disease in any way?
"No. It is almost equal in its incidence in men and women, so sex is not
a factor. It occurs most often in patients about the age of 60 through 65, so
at age 55, Patrick Swayze is young. The youngest patient I have ever treated
was 21 and the oldest was 86, so there is a spectrum."

Why is this form of cancer so often considered a death sentence?
"There are usually no symptoms until the cancer has started to spread.
It is relatively silent. Patients only get pain after it has spread and
starts involving the nerves. In addition, there is no routine screening test
for pancreatic cancer. By the time it's found in about 50% of cases, the cancer
has already spread to other organs."

Why are there usually no symptoms?
"The pancreas is really deep set near the spine, so there is nothing for
it to obstruct or press on to cause
pain or other symptoms. If the tumor is in the head of the pancreas, it may
cause jaundice, so these tumors are easier to find early. In these cases, the
jaundice is characterized by dark urine and yellow eyes. The skin may also have an orangeish
hue."

What is the survival rate for pancreatic cancer?
"It depends. If it's just in the pancreas and the neighboring glands and
we take it out, and give chemotherapy [to kill errant cancer cells throughout
the body], there is still good survival at five years. If it has already spread
beyond the pancreas and starts going into the glands and the liver, the
survival rate goes down. Once it has spread to other organs, the outcome is
fairly dismal. It's less than 1% at five years."

How is pancreatic cancer treated?
"A surgeon will start by removing the tumor [if operable], but the buck
doesn't stop with taking out the cancer. We need to add chemotherapy and/or
radiation to improve long-term survival."

What should a newly diagnosed person like Swayze do?
"The first thing to do is assess the stage of the cancer. The next step
is to go for a second opinion even if the first doctor said the tumor was
inoperable. Seek out a specialist n pancreatic cancer and get a second
opinion."

Are there any risk factors for pancreatic cancer?
"We really don't know the exact cause of pancreatic cancer. There are
multiple risk factors that are all loosely associated with the cancer including
the use of tobacco, poor diet , obesity , and diabetes . But 60% to 70% is
really just bad luck."

Does pancreatic cancer run in families?
"Yes. About 10% to 15% of these cancers do have a genetic or familial
predisposition. In fact, former U.S. president Jimmy Carter was the only person
in his family who did not have pancreatic cancer. His mother, father, and all
of his siblings had pancreatic cancer. We do know that there are certain genes
that may be linked to pancreatic cancer."

Is there anything the average person can do to lower their risk of pancreatic cancer?
"Leading a healthy lifestyle is key and definitely makes a difference.
This includes quitting smoking , consuming a healthy
diet, and maintaining a normal body weight ."

If there are no symptoms, what can a person do to catch this cancer before it spreads?
"Go for a yearly physical exam and evaluate anything that is out of the
ordinary. Tell your doctor if you have unexplained pain in your abdomen,
jaundice, or darkening of the urine. Also tell your doctor if pancreatic cancer
runs in your family."

(Medical Editor's Note: According to the American Cancer Society, tests
for detecting early pancreatic cancer may help people with a strong family
history of pancreatic cancer. However, such tests would not be used to screen
the general population.)

Is there anything more aggressive that a person who is at risk can do?
"Yes. Tell your doctor if your mom, dad, or other first-degree relatives
have had pancreatic cancer, so that you can be scanned every year with a
computed tomography (CT) scan [which uses X-rays to make detailed pictures of
the pancreas]. The downside is that insurance doesn't pay for these scans.

Any other times you would recommend this CT scan?
"Yes. There is a marker in the blood called cancer antigen 19-9 (CA
19-9) that tends to increase in people with pancreatic cancer, but it is not
specific to pancreatic cancer. If a person has jaundice, is in their 60s, and
has elevated levels of this marker, I would strongly think they had pancreatic
cancer and order a CT scan of the abdomen."

Often when a celebrity is diagnosed with a disease, it raises awareness of the condition. In that sense, what would you like to see happen in the wake of Swayze's diagnosis?
"Clearly there has to be research into pancreatic cancer. We need new
blood markers to identify pancreatic cancer earlier and we need new agents to
treat pancreatic cancer after surgery to get rid of microscopic floating cancer
cells that we are not aware of and can add a survival advantage."

Feb 28, 2008 | 5:12PM

This is way too funny. The end part is the Best.

This is Just WAY too Cute!!!

Here are some Kid say the Darndest things I pulled up from the net. Hope you enjoy!!Smiley

A kindergarten pupil told his teacher he'd found a cat, but it was dead. 'How do you know that the cat was dead?' she asked her pupil. 'Because I [censored]ed in its ear and it didn't move,'answered the child innocently. 'You did WHAT???' the teacher exclaimed in surprise. 'You know,' explained the boy, 'I leaned over and went 'Pssst!' and it didn't move.'

One summer evening during a violent thunderstorm a mother was tucking her son into bed. She was about to turn off the light when he asked with a tremor in his voice, 'Mommy, will you sleep with me tonight?' The mother smiled and gave him a reassuring hug. 'I can't dear,' she said. 'I have to sleep in Daddy's room.' A long silence was broken at last by his shaky little voice; 'The big sissy.'

A little girl asked her mother, 'Can I go outside and play with the boys?' Her mother replied, 'No,you can't play with the boys, they're too rough.' The little girl thought about it for a few moments and asked, 'If I can find a smooth one, can I play with him?'

HOW WOULD YOU MAKE A MARRIAGE WORK?                            "Tell your wife that she looks pretty even if she looks like a truck."
-Ricky, age 10

IS IT BETTER TO BE SINGLE OR MARRIED?                                    "It's better for girls to be single but not for boys. Boys need someone to clean up after them".
- Anita, age 9

WHEN IS IT OKAY TO KISS SOMEONE?                                        "When they're rich".
-Pam, age 7

"The law says you have to be eighteen, so I wouldn't want to mess with that."
- Curt, age 7

"The rule goes like this: If you kiss someone, then you should marry them and have kids with them. It's the right thing to do".
- Howard, age 8

Hyenas
Sep 23, 2007 | 7:36AM

This Post is way over due!!!! I promised My Niece Jeri I would do this weeks ago. And Kept putting it off. So sorry Hun. Here it is. Hope you find it informational. Love Ya!!!

                        -Hyenas-

There are four species of hyenas: the spotted, striped and brown hyenas and the aardwolf.

                   -Hyena Facts-

Spotted Hyena...

Swahili Name: Fisi
Scientific Name: Crocuta crocuta (spotted hyena)
Size: 28 to 35 inches tall
Weight: 90 to 190 pounds
Lifespan: 25 years in captivity
Habitat: Savannas, grasslands, woodlands, forest edges, subdeserts and mountains to 13,000 feet
Diet: Carnivorous
Gestation: 90 to 110 days
Predators: Humans

Spotted hyenas are famed scavengers and often dine on the leftovers of other predators. But these hardy beasts are also skilled hunters that will take down wildebeest or antelope. They also kill and eat birds, lizards, snakes, and insects.

In an increasingly overpopulated Africa, hyenas and humans come into frequent contact. In fact, the Maasai people of Kenya and Tanzania actually leave their dead to be consumed by hyenas. However, these intelligent and bold animals will raid food stores and crops and are blamed for many livestock and even some human deaths. In some areas they have been heavily hunted as destructive pests.

Spotted hyenas are the largest of three hyena species. Brown and striped hyenas are the other two. Although hyenas appear similar to dogs, they are actually more closely related to cats. They live throughout much of Africa and eastwards through Arabia to India. Spotted hyenas live together in large groups called clans that may include up 80 individuals and are led by females.

Spotted hyenas have good hearing and sharp eyesight at night. They are fast and can run for long distances without tiring. Packs work together effectively to isolate a herd animal, sometimes one that is ill or infirm, and pursue it to the death. The victors often squabble over the spoils, either among themselves or with other powerful animals like lions.

Spotted hyenas are quite vocal and make a wide variety of sounds, including the "laughing" that has long been associated with their name.

****************************************
Aardwolf.....

They stand about 20 inches at the shoulder
They reach 2.5 feet long
Weight 20 to 30 pounds
Members of the hyena family, aardwolves are more closely related to civets, mongooses and meerkats than dogs or wolves
Aardwolf, which means "earthwolf" in Afrikaans, is so named because these animals live in under-ground burrows
Threatened AardwolfThe aardwolf has a yellowish brown coat with several vertical black stripes, a bushy, black tipped tail with a long, coarse, dark haired stripe on it's back, which rises when the aardwolf feels threatened or scared. The aardwolf stands at 40-50 cm from the shoulder with a tail length of 20-25 cm (8-12") and has a length of 65-80cm (22-31") from nose to tail and weighs between 8 to 12 kg (20-31 kg). It resembles a small striped hyena.

Found in eastern and southern Africa, the aardwolf prefers arid, open plains, savannas and grasslands where it lives in burrows in the ground. There are two geographically separate populations of aardwolves, one centered in South Africa and the other extending from central Tanzania northward to southern Egypt.

This usual species of hyena is a termite eater. So highly adapted to eating termites, the aardwolf's teeth, except for its canines, have dwindled to mere pegs incapable of even chewing meat. Its fangs are still well developed, and it uses them to defend its territory from other aardwolves.

90% of an aardwolf's diet consists of two species of termites, one of which goes dormant during the cooler winter, so the aardwolf then switch to the other species for nourishment. This limited diet means the aardwolf has a very restricted range and can only live where these two species of termites are abundant. On an average night an aardwolf can consume anywhere from 200,000 to 300,000 termites. By using their acute hearing the aardwolf is able to detect termites in the ground and then using their broad, sticky tongue they lap them up. The aardwolf also is known to eat other insects, mice, small birds, eggs, and carrion.

************************************************

Striped Hyena........

Striped Hyena
Hyaena hyaena
Male and female hyenas look alike
Males are slightly larger in the striped and brown species
Females are larger in the spotted species
The striped hyena's coat color varies from gray to light brown with vertical black stripes along the length of the body and dark, striped legs
Along their backs are darker, erectile crests
Coat hair is long, and develops a woolly undercoat in colder climates
Their heads and bodies reach 3 to 4 feet in length; tails are about 12.5 inches; and they weigh from 55 to 121 pounds
Striped hyenas may have longevity of up to 24 years in captivity.
The striped hyaena is recorded only in the northern and north-eastern part of Africa , its southernmost limit being in central Tanzania .

It is thought striped hyenas are mainly scavengers rather that hunters, and a significant portion of their diet consists of insects, small mammals, birds eggs, even fruit and vegetables which are important sources of water.

*********************************************
Brown Hyena.....
Brown Hyena
Brown hyenas are smaller than spotted hyenas, have pointed ears and very different coats and coloring.
Brown hyenas can live in much drier areas than spotted hyenas, such as Deception Valley in the Kalahari desert.
Brown hyenas mostly scavenge large animal carcasses instead of hunting, but also eat a lot of fruit, even melons.

The Brown Hyena, (Strandwolf) is not so big as the spotted Hyena it .

The Brown Hyena live in central Africa south of the Sahara, mostly in the Kalahari and Namib deserts.

The brown hyena has a long, brown, shaggy coat with lighter under parts, gray to black face and legs, and dark horizontal bars on the legs. Males are larger then females. They weight from 65 to 80 Lb
Although the brown hyena has acute vision and hearing, it usually locates its prey by scent. Along the coast it feeds on dead seals and other marine life washed up to the shore.

The Brown hyena eats fruits, vegetables, marine life (fish, crustaceans), insects, birds, antelopes, zebra, and even carrion in the rainy season.  They eat mostly the fruits and vegetables in the dry season, mostly melons.

Its home range averages about 183 sq mi. It usually covers about 19 sq mi per night, but has been known to travel over 31 sq mi. Lions and spotted hyenas are predators.

Though they live in clans, they do not hunt in groups.  They cache food, like foxes. They also carry extra food back to the den to feed the pups.

The Brown Hyena lives in the Desert, Grasses and shrub mosaic, Semi-desert, Tropical savannah and woodland (with grass dominated under storey).

Labor Day
Sep 03, 2007 | 8:12AM

Labor Day

                        Origin of Labor Day_

observed annually in honor of working people on the first Monday in September in all the states and territories, including Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. The day was originally conceived in 1882 by Peter J. McGuire, the radical founder and indefatigable warrior of the Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of New York. On 8 May, McGuire proposed to the New York City Central Labor Union that the first Monday in September, because it fell midway between the Fourth of July and Thanksgiving Day, be set aside annually as a "labor day." His effort bore fruit on Tuesday, 5 September 1882, when workers in New York City held a large parade and a festival sponsored by the Central Labor Union and the Knights of Labor. In 1884, the New Yorkers held a parade on the first Monday of September and designated that day as the annual Labor Day. The agitation in New York City was soon followed by labor unions in other states, which staged vigorous campaigns in their state legislatures for the establishment of Labor Day as a legal holiday. Their earliest victories were in Oregon and Colorado, where Labor Day was declared to be a state holiday in February and March 1887, respectively. The next year the American Federation of Labor passed a resolution for the adoption of a Labor Day at its St. Louis, Missouri, convention. Thirty states had followed the lead of Oregon and Colorado by the time the first Monday in September was made a national holiday by an act of Congress, with the bill signed into law by President Grover Cleveland on 28 June 1894. In the early twenty-first century, Labor Day parades, rallies, festivals, and speeches were still organized by labor unions across the country and often supported by political leaders. Because of the shrinking popular base of traditional labor unions, however, most Americans tended to regard the day merely as the finale of a long summer of fun in which hot dogs, barbecues, and picnics

Fly The Flag- Please Read
Sep 02, 2007 | 4:16PM

I received this from LittlePepper (Deanna) in a Blog of hers that I had read. and was asked to forward it, however I thought I could reach more Americans if I posted it here in my blog.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Please feel free to copy this and repost it or pass it along in an email. Please join us in this FLY THE FLAG campaign and please forward this as a email/blog/yahoo or which ever  immediately to everyone in your address book asking them to also forward it. We have a little less than one week and counting to get the word out all across this great land and into every community in the United States of America. If you forward this email to least 11 people and each of those people do the same...you get the idea. THE PROGRAM IS THIS: On Tuesday, September 11th, 2007, an American flag should be displayed outside every home, apartment, office, and store in the United States. Every individual should make it their duty to display an American flag on this anniversary of our country's worst tragedy. We do this in honor of those who lost their lives on 9/11, their families, friends, and loved ones who continue to endure the pain and those who today are fighting at home and abroad to preserve our cherished freedoms. In the days, weeks and months following 9/11, our country was bathed in American flags as citizens mourned the incredible losses and stood shoulder-to-shoulder against terrorism. Sadly, those flags have all but disappeared. Our patriotism pulled us through some tough times and it shouldn't take another attack to galvanize us in solidarity. Our American flag is the fabric of our country and together we can prevail over terrorism of all kinds. Action Plan: So, here's what we need you to do... (1) Forward this email to everyone you know (at least 11 people). Please don't be the one to break this chain. Take a moment to think back to how you felt on 9/11 and let those sentiments guide you. (2) Fly an American flag of any size on 9/11. Honestly, Americans should fly the flag year-round, but if you don't, then at least make it a priority on this day. Thank you for your participation. God Bless You and God Bless America!

*All the top items were copied from Little Peppers Blog. All Thanks for the upper portion goes to her.  Any of the lower portion is all I have found surfing.  .....

This is Something I have seen in the past and have posted.. This is a Memorial for 9/11 Victims. Very Awesome!!!

This is Called "The Rolling Memeorial".  Please pass it along.

This is a story about an amazingly patriotic couple.  They are the owner operators of an 18 wheel rig.  Their names are John & Amy Holmgren.  They live in Shafer Minn.  They had the idea for a rolling memorial to the victims of the 9-11 terrorist attack on our country.

Their rig has every name of each person that lost their life on 9-11.  This concept was thought up by John and Amy, and totally paid for by them.  John says he will be awhile paying the loan off that he had to take out to do it but, thought this was the least he could do.  Applied Graphics in Fargo ND did most of the work and Paul Kosenski did the Hand painting.

He said that he got to meet the Country Singer Darryl Worley, who Sang the song "Have You Forgotten" and has gotten pulled over 3 times by the police just to get their picture taken by this truck. (I would have pulled him over too!)

He plans on attending the Mid America Truck show in Louisville, KY in March.  It is called the Rolling 9-11 Memorial, it has all the names of the people that were killed on that day and the flights they were on plus some other graphics on the side of the tractor.

Here are some more pictures of this patriotic rig

My personal thanks to the Holmgren's for this very patriotic reminder of the cost of our freedom.  Well done!
The Above information I got from http://www.catsprn.com/rolling_memorial.htm

Thank You for stopping in. So Much appreciated. Much Love and Many Hugs.

Jul 14, 2007 | 5:48PM

I am just hoping this isnt the boys step mom. But its not a great start in getting good with the boy if so.  must say it was funny. Although if I were with him would not laugh like that I would have a heart attack first, Seeing him almost out of his seat like that. Then most likely I would laugh later. I just hope the poor boy brought an extra pair of shorts?!?!?!?! You tell me what you think.

    You Are The One-Slaughter
  Lookin' back on time
Ooh we had it made
Together we had the world
Just you and I
It begins to fade
Now I spend my time
Wishin' you were here with me
Oh I wanna tell you now
Wanna tell you now
Just look into my eyes
You are the one
The one I need
To make my dreams come true
Oh you should know
I love you so
And I can't go on without you
I walk the streets alone
Starin' into space
Ah you never told me
Why can't we talk it out, oh
All of these lonely nights
I lie awake waiting for you
Just waiting for you
Won't you come back for me
And let my fantasy come true
Just me and you
You know you make
My dreams come true, yeah
You are the one
Anytime day or night
You know it's alright
with me, yeah
