Another milestone
Mar 04, 2007 | 7:28PM
My oldest boy has reached yet another milestone...yet it isn't such a good one. His first black eye. And who gave it to him? None other than his sweet, precious little 2 year old brother. Little monkey just made a fist and socked him one! My little angel boy came out of his shell with an attitude....I'm not so sure I like this!

Waiting on the World to Change
Jan 19, 2007 | 12:10PM
Just wanted to share the lyrics from a song that has really gotten my attention. I love it, and I think some of you will too. (Those of you who haven't heard it already, that is.)
Waiting on the World to Change (Written and performed by John Mayer)
Me and all my friends We're all misunderstood They say we stand for nothing There's no way we ever could Now we see everything is going wrong With the world and those who lead it We just feel like we don't have the means To rise above and beat it
So we keep waiting (waiting) Waiting on the world to change We keep on waiting (waiting) Waiting on the world to change Its hard to be persistant When we're standing at a distance So we keep waiting (waiting) Waiting on the world to change
Now if we had the power To bring our neighbors home from war They would've never missed a Christmas No more ribbons on the door When you trust your television What you get is what you got Cuz when when the only information ooohhh, They can bend it all they want
So while we're waiting (waiting) Waiting on the world to change We keep on waiting (waiting) Waiting on the world to change It's not that we don't care We just know that the party's there So we keep waiting (waiting) Waiting on the world to change
We're still waiting (waiting) Waiting on the world to change We keep on waiting (waiting) Waiting on the world to change One day our generation Is gonna rule the population
So we keep on waiting (waiting) Waiting on the world to change Know we keep on waiting (waiting) Waiting on the world to change We keep on waiting (waiting) Waiting on the world to change Waiting on the world to change Waiting on the world to change Waiting on the world to change.

We miss you
Jan 07, 2007 | 11:21AM
One year ago today, one of the greatest people I have ever known passed on. The world lost a bright, shining light that day. Aline, may your light shine on in Heaven. You always made us laugh, made us think, made us better people for knowing you. We love and miss you, "Nitterfancypants".

An update
Dec 20, 2006 | 7:40PM
Ok I know I've been bad...I haven't been around. I've been busy...seriously! In August Mammaw passed away, but a lot of you know that already. Bless her heart, I'm so glad she's at peace now. I miss her tons. We moved into a bigger place in late August so I stayed busy with unpacking for a while. And these kids...OMG! Growing like weeds and busy all the time. There are lots of other kids living nearby so they play outside a LOT when it's nice out. I've met some really nice people around here, I have awesome neighbors. I spend a lot of time hanging out with them while our kids play. Anyway, that about sums it up. I'll try to be around more!

Sorry, friends
May 13, 2006 | 1:12PM
Sorry I haven't been chatting much these days, I just don't feel very "chatty" lately. Busy around here, and when it's NOT busy I just feel like keeping to myself. Love you all, I'll try to be around more when I can. Take care!

Just lovely....
Apr 29, 2006 | 9:58AM
This morning I walked through my kitchen and noticed a puddle of water near my upright freezer...uh oh... So I open it, and its not freezing cold, but cool. Food is still mostly frozen but some stuff starting to defrost. I unplug it, plug it back in...nothing. No sound, looks like it's busted. I start moving food to the fridge freezer, mad as all hell. Just as I am about to get the LAST two items out, I see the temperature dial. It says OFF. I turn it on, freezer kicks on. Thank GOODNESS! Then it hits me...I look at 4-year-old..."Did you turn this dial?" He hangs his head, says softly, "yes mommy, I'm sorry."
Lesson of the Day: When you have kids, never assume something is broken. Check the ON/OFF function. Here's yer sign!

Kid quotes
Apr 28, 2006 | 1:26PM
Kids say the darnedest things.....
Yesterday, the kids were playing in their room, and I was watching CMT. The video "Honky Tonk Badonkadonk" was on. 4 year old came in and looked at the tv, and said: "Those girls have wide butts don't they mommy?"
Another one from the 4-year-old: "Mommy, I wanna be a Nascar driver, and daddy can too! So we need TWO Nascars...one for me, and one for Daddy!"

My family blog
Apr 28, 2006 | 1:20PM
I've never had a blog before, so I guess I'll just go with the flow. It'll probably wind up being more about my kids than anything lol. Those of you who know me well, know how important they are to me!
