Moved...

and still wading through boxes! Getting organized seems to take longer the older you get.

Trust me, this is the last move I'll ever make.

It was not my intention to be rude.
You had already had 2 threads locked, with an explanation as to why and still chose to start another.
And no, I don't expect you to wait like a child, although the lack of chat is extremely annoying to everyone, I would expect people to wait as an adult. The support staff can only update people when they themselves are updated and they are as frustrated as you that they cannot give an update sooner

Again it was not my intention to be rude in my reply.

One Has To Wonder...
Jul 28, 2009 | 4:45AM
About?

Well, why is Grab and their "Community Moderators" so quick to close threads that point out the shortcomings of their Development Staff?

We have been without a stable chat environment since 6/25/09 when this message was posted:

Skatemodee
Grab.com staff

Posted: Jun/25/2009 09:16 AM
Just some FYI in advance: The Grab chat server will be down for 30 minutes sometime between 10pm and midnight tonight, Thursday - 6/25 (Pacific time zone). I know we probably won't have the word out in time for those in greatly advanced time zones so please help spread this info when and where you are able. Thank you so much for your patience.

We were asked for our patience. It's now 30 days later and chat still is not running properly or consistently. When two threads were open on this topic in the message board area, they were locked. What would make a company defend staff that is clearly lacking by locking threads and shutting discussion down?

Clearly, staff does not document their code well. Clearly, staff does not do one up -- one down testing. And CLEARLY, Grab cares little for what their users think.

Given these things, why would anyone pay to play here?

I Must Be OUT Of My Mind!!!
Jul 18, 2009 | 7:55AM
Okay, first --Surfer Girl and gang are headed out of the Bay Area. Our house has an active and open escrow account and we are soon going to be permanent residents in an area with a much slower pace of life! Our new house has been waiting for us since December. To say I'm thrilled, elated, yet overwhelmed is an understatement.

Second -- My DoberBoy had an accident in Feburary that was pretty serious. After weeks of thinking we might lose him, he pulled through but apparently he is now throwing "odd cells" in his "accident wound" site. Crap!!!

On Thursday, we had our long-term Vet here in the Bay Area to do my boy's neuter and remove the lump. We're waiting pathology on it which is due back early next week.

So on top of trying to move by 8/12, I've also neutered a dog and am trying to determine what new challenge his "accident" is presenting. Oh, and did I mention the AT&T - CWA contract is still not settled completely and the Union represented employees in all Districts besides District 4 could walk at any time? That would throw me into a 6x10 day work schedule until the contract is settled. ARRRRGGGHHHHHH!!!!

CALGON -- Take Me Away!!!!!!

Yipee -- the house is in escrow!!! Lots of inspections scheduled for today. Personal belongings are jumping in boxes. Not only am I eager to get out of the Bay Area, but so are my belongings!

More move status to follow. Keep your fingers crossed for clean inspections!

Addictions
May 20, 2009 | 3:06PM
I met some wonderful people today who I found had something in common with me. They had someone in their family, or were themselves, in healthy recovery from some form of addiction -- Gambling, Alcohol, Drugs.

To those who are in a healthy recovery, I say CONGRATULATIONS! You are AMAZING!!!

To those who support those they love in their healthy recoveries, I say HATS OFF TO YOU!

To those still struggling to find that "one thing" (aka City Slickers) that works for you, I say -- KEEP LOOKING!!! Don't Give Up On YOU!!!

Very Well Respected Members
May 15, 2009 | 5:14AM
I was recently chastised on the Community Boards for correcting a given poster who felt it appropriate to publicly flog me. I was told this given poster was "very well respected," followed by the nice little add that they have "always been fair."

So please -- define how one can be "very well respected" in Cyberspace. And how can one be "fair" in CyberAir?

Selling A House...
May 06, 2009 | 5:58PM
I'm trying to get the heck out of the Bay Area of California and I am finding the exercise of selling my home totally frustrating! I'm not used to this type of real estate market and felt I had priced my home ahead of the curve. It's $54k below the same model listed (and all ready sold) elsewhere in my neighborhood and $190k below my neighbor 3 doors away.

We've had it on the market 60 days now and have had lots of lookers, great feedback, but only one offer that was a serious low-ball. We didn't even bother to write a counter-offer back.

Everyone -- send positive energy my way for my home to sell during this week's open house! Thanks, in advance!

Do You Ever Wonder?????
Apr 15, 2009 | 4:49PM
Do you ever stop and wonder how an animal can make such a profound difference in your life?

Do you ever question how one can love a pet who has only been a part of your family for a few months so deeply?

My 7.5 month old Doberman had a freak accident occur 3+ weeks ago. First we thought he may not make it through the injury, and then nearly a week afterwards he came down with PUPD in a BIG way. We suspected kidney failure. I was a wreck. A mess to be exact.

While it appears he may now make it and the PUPD was trauma related, it did cause me to stop and ponder the two questions I posed. My conclusion? Animals ask for nothing but love. They have no motives. They commit to you unconditionally and appreciate every freaking thing you do for them. They even love you when you're grumpy.

I believe it is these traits that make one love them so deeply, so quickly, and so profoundly.

Think about it. Let me know what you come up with!
