HAPPY THANKSGIVEING
Nov 15, 2009 | 4:02PM

To God, I’m Thankful

I’m thankful for each strand of hair
That grows upon my head
I’m thankful for the clothes I wear
And for a nice warm bed.

I’m thankful for the caring friends
Who make me feel so glad
I’m thankful for a doctor’s care
When I am feeling bad.

I’m thankful for my family
Who cheer me when I’m blue
I’m thankful for the U.S.A.
And for our soldiers too.

I’m thankful for the gentle rains
That fall upon the earth
I’m thankful for the life it brings
And for a baby’s birth.

I’m thankful for a sky of red
In early morning light
I’m thankful for the setting sun
And for the stars at night.

I’m thankful for a place to pray
And for the books I read
I’m thankful for a loving God
Who meets my every need.

WE ALL NEED A SHOULDER TO CRY ON SOMETIMES
Oct 29, 2009 | 6:44PM
THINK ABOUT IT FRIENDS,DO YOU KNOW SOMEONE WHO NEEDS YOU TO CARE??

If I happened to show up on your door step crying,

Would you Care?

If I called you and asked you to pick me up because something Happened, Would you come?

If I had one day left, to live my life;

Would you be part of That last day?

If I needed a shoulder to cry on,

Would you give me Yours?

Do you know what the relationship is between your two eyes? They blink together, they move together, they cry together, They see things together and they sleep together,

BUT THEY NEVER SEE EACH OTHER
..
that's what friendship is.

Life is lonely without FRIENDS.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE
Oct 26, 2009 | 7:53PM

The harvest moon is shining bright
in a sky so black and deep
Jack-o-lanterns faces glow
as you look down your street

In the shadows you may see
Eyes that are glowing, too
These are the eyes of Halloween cats
and they have a wish for you. . .

The greeting is simple, so do not fear.
No, don't be afraid, you see,
The wish for you is that you have a
Happy Halloween !

Wishing you a purrfect Halloween
filled with your favorite treats!

Keep using my name in vain,
I'll make rush hour longer.

 -God

That "Love Thy Neighbor" thing...
 I meant it.

 -God

I love you and you and you
and you and...

 -God

Will the road you're on
get you to my place?

   -God

Follow me.

My way is the highway.

Have you read my #1 best seller?
There will be a test.

where you're going?

 -God

Don't make me come down there.

-God

A FEW WISE WORDS TO LIVE BY

Anger is a condition in which
the tongue works faster than the mind.

You can’t change the past,
but you can ruin the present
by worrying over the future.

Love…and you shall be loved.

God always gives His best to those
who leave the choice with Him.

All people smile in the same language.

A hug is a great gift… one size fits all.
It can be given for any occasion
and it’s easy to exchange.

Everyone needs to be loved…
especially when they do not deserve it.

The real measure of a man’s wealth
is what he has invested in eternity.

Laughter is God’s sunshine.

Everyone has beauty
but not everyone sees it.

It’s important for parents to live
the same things they teach.

Thank God for what you have,
TRUST GOD for what you need.

If you fill your heart with regrets of yesterday
and the worries of tomorrow,
you have no today to be thankful for.

Man looks at outward appearance
but the Lord looks within.

The choice you make today
will usually affect tomorrow.

Take time to laugh, for it is
the music of the soul.

If anyone speaks badly of you,
live so none will believe it.

Patience is the ability to idle your motor
when you feel like stripping your gears.

Love is strengthened by working
through conflicts together.

The best thing parents can do
for their children is to love each other.

Harsh words break no bones
but they do break hearts.

To get out of a difficulty,
one usually must go through it.

We take for granted the things
that we should be giving thanks for.

Love is the only thing that can be
divided without being diminished.

Happiness is enhanced by others
but does not depend upon others.

For every minute you are angry with someone,
you lose 60 seconds of happiness
that you can never get back.

Do what you can, for who you can,
with what you have, and where you are.

with Love and Peace.

we can all learn a few things from..GEORGE CARLIN

Wise Words by George Carlin

George Denis Patrick Carlin (May 12, 1937 – June 22, 2008)
was an American stand-up comedian. He was also an actor and author,
and he won five Grammy Awards for his comedy albums.

A Message by George Carlin:

The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings
but shorter tempers, wider Freeways , but narrower viewpoints.
We spend more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy less.
We have bigger houses and smaller families,
more conveniences, but less time.

We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge,
but less judgment, more experts, yet more problems,
more medicine, but less wellness.

We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly,
laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late,
get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom.

We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values.
We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often..

We've learned how to make a living, but not a life.
We've added years to life not life to years. We've been all the way
to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street
to meet a new neighbor. We conquered outer space
but not inner space. We've done larger things, but not better things..

We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We've conquered the atom,
but not our prejudice. We write more, but learn less.
We plan more, but accomplish less. We've learned to rush,
but not to wait. We build more computers to hold more information,
to produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and less.

These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion,
big men and small character, steep profits and shallow relationships.
These are the days of two incomes but more divorce,
fancier houses, but broken homes. These are days of quick trips,
disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one night stands,
overweight bodies, and pills that do
everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill.

It is a time when there is much in the showroom window
and nothing in the stockroom. A time when technology can
bring this letter to you, and a time when you can choose either
to share this insight, or to just hit delete...

Remember; spend some time with your loved ones,
because they are not going to be around forever.

Remember, say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe, |
because that little person soon will grow up and leave your side.

Remember, to give a warm hug to the one next to you,
because that is the only treasure you can give with your
heart and it doesn't cost a cent.

Remember, to say, ' I love you ' to your partner and your loved ones,
but most of all mean it. A kiss and an embrace will mend hurt
when it comes from deep inside of you.

Remember to hold hands and cherish the moment for \
someday that person will not be there again.

Give time to love, give time to speak!
And give time to share the precious thoughts in your mind.

AND ALWAYS REMEMBER:

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take,
but by the moments that take our breath away.

We're not the only ones!
<smile>

Don't let worry kill you - let the church help.

Thursday night - Potluck supper.
Prayer and medication to follow.

For those of you who have children and don't know it,
 we have a nursery downstairs.

The rosebud on the altar this morning is to announce
the birth of David Alan Belzer,
the sin of Rev. and Mrs. Julius Belzer.

This afternoon there will be meetings in the
south and north ends of the church.
Children will be baptized at both ends.

Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. there will be a meeting
 of the 'Little Mothers Club'.
All ladies wishing to be 'Little Mothers'
will meet with the Pastor in his study.

This being Easter Sunday,
we will ask Mrs. Lewis to come forward
and lay an egg on the altar.

The service will close with 'Little Drops of Water'.
One of the ladies will start quietly
and the rest of the congregation will join in.

Next Sunday a special collection will be taken to
defray the cost of the new carpet.
All those wishing to do something on the new carpet
will come forward and do so.

The ladies of the church have cast off clothing of every kind.
They can be seen in the church basement.

A bean supper will be held on Tuesday evening
in the church hall.  Music will follow.

At the evening service tonight,
the sermon topic will be "What is Hell?"
Come early and listen to our choir practice.

I WONDER,WHAT WOULD WE DO?
Sep 05, 2009 | 8:07PM

If Jesus Came To Your House

If Jesus came to your house to spend a
day or two, if He came unexpectedly,
I wonder what you'd do.

Oh, I know you'd give your nicest room
to such an honored guest, and all the
food you'd serve to him would be the
very best.

And you would keep assuring Him
you're glad to have him there.
That serving Him in your own home
is a joy beyond compare.

But when you saw Him coming,
would you meet Him at the door,
with arms outstretched in welcome
to your Heavenly visitor?

Or would you have to change your
clothes before you let him in?

Or hide some magazines and put
the Bible where it'd been?

Would you turn off the radio, and
hope He hadn't heard? And wish
you hadn't uttered that last loud
hasty word?

Would you hide your worldly music,
and put some hymn books out?

Could you let Jesus come right in
or would you have to rush about?

And I wonder if the Saviour spent
a day or two with you, would you
go right on doing the things you
always do?

Would you go right on saying the
things you always say? Would life
for you continue as it does from
day to day?

Would your family conversation
keep up it's usual pace? And would
you find it hard each meal to say a
table grace?

Would you sing the songs you always
sing, and read the books you read?

And let Him know the things on which
your mind and spirit feed?

Would you take Jesus with you
everywhere you'd planned to go?

Or would you maybe change your
plans for just a day or so?

Would you be glad to have Him
meet your very closest friends?

Or would you hope they'd stay away
until His visit ends?

Would you be glad to have Him
stay forever on and on?

Or would you sigh with great relief
when He at last was gone?

It might be interesting to know the
things you would do, if Jesus Christ
in person came to spend some time
with you.

HAPPY LABOR DAY,GOD BLESS MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS
Sep 05, 2009 | 8:02PM

Lord on this Labor Day,
we celebrate the work we do,
and we thank You for the blessing of our jobs.
We ask for those seeking employment that
You guide them in their search for work.

We ask for guidance when we are confused.
We ask for patience when working through conflicts.
We ask for strength to complete each day.
We ask for rest when we are weary.

We ask that You be with those whose faces
we might never see but who work tirelessly
each day for the good of us all.

'Lord, support us all day long until  shadows lengthen,
evening comes, the busy world hushed, the fever of life
is over and our life's work is done.

Then, in Thy tender mercy, give us safe lodging, holy
rest and everlasting peace at your side for eternity.'

Amen
