BIG VIRUS COMING !!! PLEASE READ & FORWARD

BIG VIRUS COMING !!! PLEASE READ & FORWARD !!!

http://www.snopes.com/computer/virus/postcard.asp

Snopes lists all the names it could come in.

Hi All, I checked with Norton Anti-Virus, and they are gearing up for this virus!

I checked Snopes (URL above:), and it is for real!!

Get this E-mail message sent around to your contacts ASAP.

PLEASE FORWARD THIS WARNING AMONG FRIENDS, FAMILY AND CONTACTS!

You should be alert during the next few days. Do not open any message with an attachment entitled 'POSTCARD FROM HALLMARK,' regardless of who sent it to you. It is a virus which opens A POSTCARD IMAGE, which 'burns' the whole hard disc C of your computer. This virus will be received from someone who has your e-mail address in his/her contact list. This is the reason why you need to send this e-mail to all your contacts It is better to receive this message 25 times than to receive the virus and open it.

If you receive a mail called' POSTCARD,' even though sent to you by a friend, do not open it! Shut down your computer immediately.

This is the worst virus announced by CNN. It has been classified by Microsoft as the most destructive virus ever. This virus was discovered by McAfee yesterday, and there is no repair yet for this kind of virus. This virus simply destroys the Zero Sector of the Hard Disc, where the vital information is kept.

COPY THIS E-MAIL, AND SEND IT TO YOUR FRIENDS. REMEMBER: IF YOU SEND IT TO THEM, YOU WILL BENEFIT ALL OF US

I don't know who to believe. Because Urban Legends and Hoax Slayer both say it's a hoax. But Snoops says it's different from there other "Postcard" hoaxes.

The most important thing to remember, is you can't get anything by opening the mail itself. So if you do, it's ok. JUST DON'T EVER DOWNLOAD IT! That's how you get a virus. So never download anything, unless you know what it is. And remember, how can your friends send it to you, if they downloaded it and got the virus already, lol! So you shouldn't get it from a friend.

But at any rate, a virus has to be downloaded onto your computer, you can't get by opening a mail. You have to click the actual link, before it downloads. Hope this helps ease every one's mind.

Huggs, Kay

Oh yeah, and you want to open the mail, so you can forward it to your email provider. Then they can find out who sent it and take measures to stop them. Just make sure you tell them, you think it's a virus, so they don't open it themselves and get the virus, lol.

Huggles hon, this one has been around awhile, but never hurts to be reminded!!! thanks!!
goddess
p.s. Kay it can seemingly come from someone in your addressbook because some virus' attack the address book and send out mass messages that appear to come from you.(two stage virus) you can get virus' just by visiting some sites, you don't have to download them they attack you without the attachments (some virus' anyways)
Your other advice was good though!! thanks!!

I was born and raised in Indiana, USA...My growing years were spent on a farm where I worked along side my father during the summer months, doing whatever needed done...The work was hard , the days were long...But I was blessed with good health and a lot of strength, and farm work kept me physically fit and mentally alert...From fall until spring I was in school and the farm load did slow down with the crops harvested and stored for winter..But I still had chores to d
