GRAB are you listening? GAMESVILLE on cheaters ....
Nov 20, 2009 | 2:26PM
Banned For Violating Terms of Service
As part of our continuing effort to keep Gamesville.com free from abuse, we recently banned over 40 accounts that were discovered to be using cheats and/or third-party software in an attempt to manipulate our systems for profit. These banned accounts have forfeited any and all prizes, and alternate winners have been selected and contacted.
We at Gamesville take the integrity of our games and fair-play very seriously. If an account attempts to cheat the system or otherwise violate our terms of service, we will discover it, and those accounts will forfeit any ill-gotten prizes, lose their badges and GV Rewards, and lose access to our games. Moreover, our parent company Lycos reserves the right to seek damages from those who violate our terms of service to the fullest extent permitted by law and/or to report wrongdoers to the FBI for wire fraud and other federal crimes.
We at Gamesville and Lycos will continue to take an aggressive stance to ensure that Gamesville remains an honest, enjoyable place for our members by actively pursuing accounts that violate our Terms of Service. We appreciate the support of the thousands of legitimate Gamesville members helping us keep Gamesville.com a secure and fun place to play free games and win cash prizes.
Sincerely, Chris Cummings Manager, Gamesville.com +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Does Gamesville Allow Cheat Programs? Topic: Cheating
Recently, several of you have inquired about the use of automated programs or other means to play Gamesville games--essentially the question is, does Gamesville support or allow "cheat" programs?
In a word, no. Gamesville and its parent company Lycos do not approve, allow, or condone any kind of cheat program.
In fact, the use a cheat program violates the terms of service for Lycos, violates Gamesville's official rules, and puts your use of Lycos and Gamesville at risk--not to mention that downloading cheat programs from third parties may put your own personal information at risk.
First, the Lycos terms of service makes it very clear that using automated means to enhance play in our games is prohibited. See the "Member Use and Conduct" section at http://info.lycos.com/legal/legal.asp#Member.
Second, the rules for Gamesville and any jackpot game (such as Magic 21) or sweepstakes game (such as the GV Rewards sweepstakes) we operate prohibit players from acting in an unsportsmanlike or a disruptive manner. Cheating, by its very definition, is unsportsmanlike because it violates all aspects of fair play, and it's disruptive because it negatively impacts the legitimate players who are adhering to the rules.
Finally, the use of computer programs, scripts or any other devices to automate any aspect of play in any Gamesville game can put your own privacy and your own computer at risk.
Think of it this way: If an individual or a company is willing to provide you with a program that will help you cheat us, what makes you think those same people are not willing and able to cheat you as well, by either misuing your personal information and/or loading spyware onto your computer?
Gamesville is working hard to prevent the use of cheat programs. Right now, we're focused on two main goals:
* The first goal is to educate players about the potential consequences of using these programs--at a minimum, the use of these cheat programs puts your eligibility for winning prizes, or even playing at Gamesville, at risk; at their worst, cheat programs may put your own personal information and your own computer at risk. * The second goal, which is ongoing, is creating ways to unravel the efficacy of these cheat programs and also catching and stopping users from using cheat programs on Gamesville.
Several concerned folks have written in and posted to the blog, accusing different users of cheating. The very idea of "cheating" deeply bothers and offends us, so we can understand the frustration you might feel if you see someone you think might be cheating. However, accusations back and forth in a public forum are not productive in the short run and are not healthy for anyone in the long run.
If you suspect someone of cheating, there are two basic options. The first option is to ignore the suspected cheater and simply focus on your own game and your own enjoyment of that game. The second option is to report the suspected cheater to customer service for investigation. Please be sure to include the suspected cheater's full username, the specific reasons why you suspect this player of cheating, and any details or screenshots you feel will help prove that this player is cheating.
If you suspect someone of cheating, whichever option you choose, please do not argue with or antagonize the suspected cheater in chat or elsewhere; this serves no tangible purpose other than to breed ill will among the community.

What are you drinking today, hmmm?
Jul 03, 2009 | 10:10AM
WATER
#1. 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated. (Likely applies to half the world population) #2. In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak that it is mistaken for hunger. #3. Even MILD dehydration will slow down one's metabolism as 3%.
#4. One glass of water will shut down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a University of Washington study. #5. Lack of water, the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue. #6. Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers. #7. A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen or on a printed page. #8. Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79%., and one is 50% less likely to develop bladder cancer. Are you drinking the amount of water you should drink every day?
COKE #1. In many states the highway patrol carries two gallons of Coke in the trunk to remove blood from the highway after a car accident.
#2. You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of Coke and it will be gone in two days. #3. To clean a toilet: Pour a can of Coca-Cola into the toilet bowl and let the 'real thing' sit for one hour, then flush clean. The citric acid in Coke removes stains from vitreous china.
#4. To remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers: Rub the bumper with a rumpled-up piece of Reynolds Wrap aluminum foil dipped in Coca-Cola.
#5. To clean corrosion from car battery terminals: Pour a can of Coca-Cola over the terminals to bubble away the corrosion.
#6. To loosen a rusted bolt: Apply a cloth soaked in Coca-Cola to the rusted bolt for several minutes.
#7. To bake a moist ham: Empty a can of Coca-Cola into the baking pan, wrap the ham in aluminum foil, and bake. Thirty minutes before ham is finished, remove the foil, allowing the drippings to mix with the Coke for a sumptuous brown gravy.
#8... To remove grease from clothes: Empty a can of Coke into the load of greasy clothes, add detergent, and run through a regular cycle. The Coca-Cola will help loosen grease stains. It will also clean road haze from your windshield.
FOR YOUR INFORMATION: #1 the active ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid. It will dissolve a nail in about four days. Phosphoric acid also leaches calcium from bones and is a major contributor to the rising increase of osteoporosis. #2. To carry Coca-Cola syrup! (the concentrate) the commercial trucks must use a hazardous Material place cards reserved for highly corrosive materials. #3. The distributors of Coke have been using it to clean engines of the trucks for about 20 years! Now the question is, would you like a glass of water?
or Coke?

PMS BLUES
Feb 23, 2009 | 7:03AM
Dolly Parton "PMS BLUES"
Eve you wicked woman, you done put your curse on me
Why didn't you just leave that apple hangin' in the tree
You make us hate our husbands, our lovers and our boss
Why I can't even count the good friends I've already lost
Cause of... PMS blues, PMS blues!!
I don't even like myself, but it's something I can't help
I got those God almighty, slap somebody PMS blues
Most times I'm easy going, some say I'm good as gold
But when I'm PMS I tell ya, I turn mean and cold you
Those not afflicted with it are affected just the same
Poor old men didn't have to grin and say "I feel your pain"
PMS blues... PMS blues...
You know you must forgive us for we care not what we do
I got those can't stop crying, dishes flying PMS blues
But you know we can't help it We don't even know the cause
But as soon as this part's over, then comes the menopause
Oh, Lord... Oh, Lord...
We're going to always be a heap of fun Like the devil
Taking over my body, suffering, suffering, suffering
Everybody's suffering, huh?
But a woman had to write this song, a man would be scared to
Lest he be called a chauvenist or just fall victim to
Those.... PMS blues!!!
You know we'd kill for less than that PMS blues!!!!
You don't want to cross my path Cause a pitbull
Ain't no match For these teeth a clenchin',Fluid
Retention Head a swellin', can't stop yellin' Got no
Patience, I'm so hateful PMS blues, premenstrual syndrome
Got those moods a swingin', tears a slingin'
Nothin' fits me when it hits me
Rantin', ravin', misbehavin' PMS blues!!!!
It's the only time in my life I ever think about wishing
I'd been a man But you know that only means one thing
If I'd have been a man, I'd be somewhere right this very minute
With some old cranky, naggin', raggin' hateful woman
With those old... PMS blues... PMS blues
I don't want to talk about it, we both could do without it
Got those treat your kids bad, don't you talk back
Gone ballistic, unrealistic Awful lowdown,
bitch to be around... PMS blues!!!

What does it really take for one to be Proud to be an American? To be a hero?
Jan 04, 2009 | 7:39AM
This is performance you watch with your heart and soul...........
What does it really take for one to be Proud to be an American?
And to be a Hero?
What endeavor would you undertake knowing full well that the odds are you will fail?
What would you give your all to knowing it's likely you will be severely injured or even die trying?
What is the greatest possible reward and in that thought, what is the most valuable and priceless thing on earth?
The falling is why Michael Israel, the artist chose these two songs, and a performance you watch with your heart.
Paul and Chrissie are a young couple, in their twenties, and have started a new family.
Story as told by Chrissie
I'll never forget that day. My husband Paul didn't even eat breakfast, he was excited and wanted to get to the fire station early. It was his first week on the job. And there at the door, he stood he stood waiting for a hug from Jessie our adorable 3 year old. When Paul told that her he loved her, Jessie's face lit up with a big smile and in her tiny voice she said
"Daddy, will you play with me when you get home?"
Paul smiled and said "Of course."
I hated that we both had to work, but I was glad that Jessie could go to Gail's apartment to play her daughter Jen. When we got there Jessie and Jen started playing with dolls right away. And then on my way out the door I heard Jessie tell Jen that her daddy is a fireman. She sounded so proud.
left feeling happy and proud of both Jessie and Paul.
I didn't know that that day would change my life forever.
They tell me that Jessie got up to go to the bathroom. Right after she closed the door there was huge explosion, the entire building shook. Gail said the apartment filled with smoke. Without even thinking Gail grabbed Jen and ran out.
Frantically she found the fire chief and told him that there was another little girl trapped in her apartment. But, the chief told her there was no way he could send anyone into that collapsing old building.
Gail heard Paul's voice on the radio saying he was on the second floor.
The chief told Paul to get out... that he had a family to think about, but Paul's voice came back on the radio and said that he wouldn't leave until he knew everyone was safe.
Paul said he heard there was a little girl trapped in one of the apartments. Little did he know...
The chief was yelling at him: "Are you insane, GET OUT OF THERE before the building collapses", but Paul refused.
When I got there I didn't see Jessie and just went crazy. I was going to go in there and get her myself. The chief had to grab me to stop me.
When he realized who I was he told me Paul was already in there. But when I asked him if they were OK, he just looked at me.
Then I heard Paul's voice on the radio.
It was broken up, but I heard him say he it was really bad. He said he was going to try to get the child and make it to a window.
screamed! All I could do was scream. “Paul, its Jessie! IT’S JESSIE! God, he doesn’t know!”
In my heart, I imagined he found her… That he hugged her and at least for a moment everything was OK.
There was another huge explosion, the ground shook more violently than ever and fire blew out the windows. I just fell to my knees. “Noooooo!”
The chief tied to tell me what a hero Paul was and that he went in there with good reason that day. I felt like someone had just punched me in the stomach. I was shaking, delirious about what had just happened. I started thinking “Oh my God, my life is over. Did I say the right things, did I do the right things? Did I tell them I love them?”
And then all of a sudden there they were jumping out of the fourth floor window. It was like a dream. There was Paul hanging on to Jessie with her arms wrapped around his neck.
Paul stood still holding Jessie, his head bowed in a silent pray of thanks. Jessie was hugging him, her head turned back with tear filled eyes watching as the rest of the building collapsed. She said “Mommy, I wasn’t scared. I knew Daddy would come. He’s my hero, isn’t he?”

IN HONOR OF VETERANS DAY
Nov 08, 2008 | 12:23AM
IN HONOR OF VETERANS DAY
WHY THE AMERICAN FLAG IS FOLDED 13 TIMES
The first fold of our flag is a symbol of life.
The second fold is a symbol of our belief in eternal life.
The third fold is made in honor and remembrance of the veterans departing our ranks who gave a portion of their lives for the defense of our country to attain peace throughout the world.
The fourth fold represents our weaker nature, for as American citizens trusting in God, it is to Him we turn in times of peace as well as in time of war for His divine guidance.
The fifth fold is a tribute to our country, for in the words of Stephen Decatur, "Our Country, in dealing with other countries, may she always be right; but it is still our country, right or wrong."
The sixth fold is for where our hearts lie. It is with our heart that we pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States Of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all.
The seventh fold is a tribute to our Armed Forces, for it is through the Armed Forces that we protect our country and our flag against all her enemies, whether they be found within or without the boundaries of our republic.
The eighth fold is a tribute to the one who entered into the valley of the shadow of death, that we might see the light of day, and to honor mother, for whom it flies on Mother's Day.
The ninth fold is a tribute to womanhood; for it has been through their faith, their love, loyalty and devotion that the character of the men and women who have made this country great has been molded.
The tenth fold is a tribute to the father, for he, too, has given his sons and daughters for the defense of our country since they were first born.
The eleventh fold, in the eyes of a Hebrew citizen represents the lower portion of the seal of King David and King Solomon, and glorifies in their eyes, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
The twelfth fold, in the eyes of a Christian citizen, represents an emblem of eternity and glorifies, in their eyes, God the Father, the Son, and Holy Spirit.
When the flag is completely folded, the stars are uppermost reminding us of our nation's motto, "In God We Trust". After the flag is completely folded and tucked in, it takes on the appearance of a cocked hat, ever reminding us of the soldiers who served under General George Washington, and the sailors and marines who served under Captain John Paul Jones, who were followed by their comrades and shipmates in the Armed Forces of the United States, preserving for us the rights, privileges, and freedoms we enjoy today. There are some traditions and ways of doing things which have deep meaning. You will see many flags folded in the coming weeks, and now you will know why.
