Telstra Ads

Woah! last post was four months ago?! Ah well, I need to post more regularly, so I thought there would be no better place to start than...erh...

Yes, I know what you are all thinking "andreottam is back...and now is rambling on about another topic...the end of the world is near!!" Well, its not...I hope...

Telstra is an Australia telecommunication company that basically covers I think every single possible way that we could contact eachother..well..besides the mail...and smoke signals..

Telstra owns the phone lines in Australia, as it used to be the only phone company in Australia. Nowdays, Telstra and other phone companies can now supply phone services. Telstra also consists of a company that has internet services, called Bigpond.

Over the next few days, I am going to be posting some advertisements Telstra has done...why? you make ask. Well, I think they are quite good, and telecommunication is a very important thing in Australia, as we have a massive amount of land, and a relatively small population.

Some Australian's might recognise the ads (and yes, once I find the "great wall of China" one, I will post it). But for the meantime, here is an older advertisement by Telstra:

Enjoy, and I will get around to posting/spamming your guys blogs.

See you later, Blogbusters

Goodbye

Goodbye

Well blogbusters, it turns out I cannot keep up with my posts, so on that note, I have no choice, but to say this is the end of my blog as you know it. Do not fear, I will visit grab reguarlly, but I can no longer say that you will have a post.

I am sorry, blogbusters, about disregarding my word about staying put; but school, and other things are getting too hard. I hope you can forgive me about the lies I have offered you, and the agreements I made with the blogging community of grab.

It has been a year since this blog has started, and I wish it could last for longer, but I have failed you. I would have never learnt as much as I have without you guys, or had as much fun with friends.

Grab has also been helpful with my blog, so I would also like to apologise for failing them, as well as my Blogbusters.

It has been a pleasure meeting you all, and I will drop by for a visit (those words I wont back down from).

And truely, these words must be spoken:

See you later, Blogbusters

Blast from the Past

Blast from the Past

Now this should be a blast from the past...wait, not just a blast, a nuclear one! sending you all the way back to the very first blast from the past. Now, I know that you are all familiar with this monthly post........what? you arent.......Well, you see, it is a copy of a good post...how do I know its good...well, one that gets the best reaction from you guys. Let's see, it's been a year, so I will present to you the best post (according to feedback) I have ever posted, and here it is!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Poem Post

I was trying to get this post running for quite some time, thanks to OIMAQT I can now use a video with it.  For those who do not know, I am quite patriotic and I do live in Australia, so I though I good poem/song to show on my blog would be entitled, "I still call Australia home."

Just some background information for you. QANTAS is an Australian airline, they used this song/poem on there ad many times, if you were not effected by this poem, in my opinion, you are not patriotic about  Australia. Thanks to Youtube and  All Down Under for the information.

If you want to know, this video is not the originally advertisement...

 I Still Call Australia Home

I've been to cities that never close down
From New York to Rio and old London town
But no matter how far, or how wide I roam
I still call Australia home.

I'm always trav'lin'
And I love bein' free
So I keep leavin' the sun and the sea
But my heart lies waiting over the foam
I still call Australia home.

All the sons and daughters spinning 'round the world
Away from their families and friends
But as the world gets older and colder
It's good to know where your journey ends.

And someday we'll all be together once more
When all the ships come back to the shore
Then I realise something I've always known
I still call Australia home.

No matter how far, or how wide I roam
I still call Australia home, I still call Australia home,
I still call Australia home.

Here is a piece of trivia you may have noticed, the advertisement says Rome instead of Rio, that's because when QANTAS made that advertisement they weren't flying to Rio.

----------------------------------------------

Hope you enjoyed it,

See you later, Blogbusters

Happy Birthday, Tathra!

Guess who's Birthday it is today....Tathra....also known as...

JILLIAN!

Ok, just done one thing that will make her mad.

Tathra is a good Blogbuster of mine who also lives in Australia. She lives in South Australia, and I live in Western Australia (Such creative state names....)

Tathra is turning 61 today....maybe I should sell her as an antique...

2 bad marks....

I asked all my January-Born frends a few questions, one of which was 'what do you like best about birthdays?'

Jillian, being the Aussie she is, answered seeing friends and family

Happy Birthday, Jill (ian)

It's another new year, meaning another year of andreottam's posts...

.........yes! A whole year....I feel your pain, blogbusters.

But what should you, as the audience of this blog, expect to recieve this month. Well, this month is the birth of the new year, so I thought that the topic of this month will be beginnings and births of events and other things

One of the special focuses will be put aside for birthdays. As some of you may know, I have attempted to find out Blogbuster's Birthdays dates. The Birthday's span from the third of january (tathra) to the thirthieth (mine).

We will look inside why the new year starts at january, speak about new beginnings, and even some older ones as well

The West Behind the Rest
Dec 23, 2007 | 2:00AM

The West Behind the Rest

I think it's about time I brang this up. Me and a Southern Australian Blogbuster have been commenting several times on eachothers blogs. Today she left a comment saying 'your candles last until 11pm...'

Some of you (probably most of you) might be thinking: 'what is she on about?' Well, let me tell you how it works.

The first part of Australia to be colinised was the Eastern areas, these colonies move from the east to the west. Now, colonies, like the usually do, have advanced technologies. Also, as the colonies moved to the west, the numbers decreased in that colony (because some stayed).

So what ended up happening was a huge amount of the population being in the eastern area, some population being in the central area, and not as much in the western area. Now, the larger the colony, the more advanced the conoly became.

So the west is usually behind the rest. But we are also spaced out in only one state (Western Australia) which takes up one third of the country, produces 50% of the resources in the Australian economy....and we only have 10% of the population!

(most of our stuff is natrual resources, such as ore, coal, wheat, etc.)

So without this west, the Australian economy will be in big trouble.............

Well, either way, the economy is in trouble with labor in power.....

Time to go!

A Snowball Too Far?

I am posting these things at 11pm, so please ignore any mistakes I make....

Now...this happened early this month in America. An Australian, who was at America for whatever reason, throw a snowball at an American women (a co-worker of his). This women charged him for assault, claming it agrivated previous back injuries. The charges were later dropped.....

Well Blogbusters, do you think that was really nessicary?

Bad Santa?
Dec 20, 2007 | 6:06AM

Bad Santa?

Well, I guess my short (*cough) break from blogging didnt have such a good impact on the schedule....so I am just going to skip some of the posts I was going to do.

Over here in Australia, we have shopping stores....even Western Australia does (YES! WE DO! We aren't that far behind!). And at shopping stores, around the festive season, there are people who have jobs to dress up as santa for entertainment.

At a store here called Myers (no idea if you guys have it), one of these 'santa people', who is hired to duplicate every part of santa's personality, said the words 'ho ho ho'. And guess what, he got fired......

Any comments?
