Stand By Me

This video was done by 5 sound engineers who went around the world
recording individuals doing this song. They then blended this together
into one song and video which I thought was amazing. Click on the link
below to see this.

Try putting this into your browser!!

This just shows you that the world CAN come together! It is an amazing show, and if the buffer gets ahead of itself, just move the blue line back It is awesome!
Also, for some reason I can't put pics on my blog anymore, or use nice lettering. It is just blah, but I promise you the video is well worth it!!

Forgiven?
Apr 06, 2009 | 4:33PM
One day a while back, a man, his heart heavy with grief,

was walking in the woods.  As he thought about his life this

day, he knew many things were not right.  He thought about

those who had lied about him back when he had a job..

His thoughts turned to those who had stolen his things and

cheated him.  He remembered family who had passed on.

His mind turned to the illness he had, that no one could

cure.  His very soul was filled with anger, resentment, and

frustration. Standing there this day, searching for answers

he could not find, knowing all else had failed him, he knelt

at the base of an old oak tree to seek the one he knew would

always be there.  And with tears in his eyes, he prayed:

'Lord- You have done wonderful things for me in this life.

You have told me to do many things for you, and I happily

obeyed. Today, you have told me to forgive.  I am sad, Lord,

because I cannot.  I don't know how.  It is not fair Lord, I

didn't deserve these wrongs that were done against me and

I shouldn't have to forgive.  As perfect as your way is Lord,

this one thing I cannot  do, for I don't know how to forgive.

My anger is so deep Lord, I fear I may not hear you, but I

pray you teach me to do the one thing I cannot do:  Teach

me to forgive .' As he knelt there in the quiet shade of that

old oak tree, he felt something fall onto his shoulder.  He

opened his eyes.  Out of the corner of one eye, he saw

something red on his shirt..  He could not turn to see what it

was because where the oak tree had been was a large square

piece of wood in the ground.  He raised his head and saw

two feet held to the wood with a large spike through them.

He raised his head more, and tears came to his eyes as he

saw Jesus hanging on a cross.  He saw spik es in His hands, a

gash in His side, a torn and battered body, deep thorns sunk

into His head. Finally he saw the suffering and pain on His

precious face..  As their eyes met, the man's tears turned to

sobbing, and Jesus began to speak. Have you ever told a lie?'

He asked?  The man answered - 'Yes, Lord.'

'Have you ever been given too much change and kept it?'

The man answered - 'Yes, Lord.'  And the man sobbed more a

and more.

'Have you ever taken something from work that wasn't

yours?' Jesus asked?

And the man answered, 'Yes, Lord.'

'Have you ever sworn, using my Father's name in vain?'

The man, crying now, answered - 'Yes, Lord.'

As Jesus asked many more times,  'Have you ever'? The

man's crying became uncontrollable, for he could only

answer - 'Yes, Lord'.

Then Jesus turned His head from one side to the other, and

the man felt something fall on his other shoulder He looked

and saw that it was the blood of Jesus.
  When he looked back

up, his eyes met those of Jesus, and there was a look of love
the man had never seen or known before.

Jesus said, 'I didn't deserve this either, but I forgive you.'

It may be hard to see how you're going to get through

something, but when you look back in life, you realize how

true this statement is.

Read the following first line slowly and let it sink in.

If God brings you to it - He will bring you through it.

When Jesus died on the cross, he was thinking of you!

THE PIANO AND THE PROTEGE'
Jul 24, 2007 | 6:01PM
The Piano & The Protege'
~THE PIANO~
Wishing to encourage her young son's progress on the piano,

a mother took her boy to a Paderewski concert. After they

were seated, the mother spotted a friend in the audience and
walked down the aisle to greet her.
Seizing the opportunity to explore the wonders of the

concert hall, the little boy rose and eventually explored

his way through a door marked "NO ADMITTANCE."
When the house lights dimmed and the concert was
about to begin, the mother returned to her seat and
discovered that the child was missing.
Suddenly, the curtains parted and spotlights focused
on the impressive Steinway on stage. In horror, the
mother saw her little boy sitting at the keyboard,
innocently picking out "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star."
At that moment, the great piano master made his entrance,
quickly moved to the piano, and whispered in the boy's ear,
"Don't quit. Keep playing."
Then leaning over, Paderewski reached down with
his left hand and began filling in a bass part. Soon his
right arm reached around to the other side of the child
and he added a running obligation. Together, the
old master and the young novice transformed a
frightening situation into a wonderfully creative experience.
The audience was mesmerized.
That's the way it is with our Heavenly Father.
What we can accomplish on our own is hardly noteworthy.
We try our best, but the results aren't exactly graceful flowing music.
But with the hand of the Master, our life's work truly can be beautiful.
Next time you set out to accomplish great feats, listen carefully.
You can hear the voice of the Master, whispering in your ear,
"Don't quit. Keep playing." Feel His loving arms around you.
Know that His strong hands are there helping you turn
your feeble attempts into true masterpieces.
Remember, God doesn't call the equipped,
He equips the called. And He'll always be there to love
and guide you on to great things.

~THE PROTEGE'~
At the prodding of my friends, I am writing this story.
My name is Mildred Hondorf. I am a former elementary school
music teacher from DeMoines, Iowa. I've always supplemented
my income by teaching piano lessons--something
I've done for over 30 years. Over the years I found that children
have many levels of musical ability. I've never had the
pleasure of having a protege’ though I have taught some talented students.
However I've also had my share of what I call
"musically challenged" pupils. One such student was Robby.
Robby was 11 years old when hismother (a single mom) dropped him
off for his first piano lesson. I prefer that students
(especially boys!) begin at an earlier age, which I
explained to Robby. But Robby said that it had always
been his mother's dream to hear him play the piano.
So I took him as a student. Well, Robby began with his
piano lessons and from the beginning I thought it was a
hopeless endeavor. As much as Robby tried, he lacked
the sense of tone and basic rhythm needed to excel.
But he dutifully reviewed his scales and some elementary
pieces that I require all my students to learn.
Over the months he tried and tried while I listened
and cringed and tried to encourage him. At the end
of each weekly lesson he'd always say, "My mom's
going to hear me play some day." But it seemed hopeless.
He just did not have any inborn ability. I only knew
his mother from distance as she dropped Robby off or
waited in her aged car to pick him up. She always waved
and smiled but never stopped in. Then one day Robby
stopped coming to our lessons. I thought about calling
him but assumed, because of his lack of ability, that he
had decided to pursue something else. I also was glad
that he stopped coming. He was a bad advertisement for
my teaching! Several weeks later I mailed to the student's
homes a flyer on the upcoming recital. To my surprise
Robby (who received a flyer) asked me if he could be in
the recital. I told him that the recital was for current pupils
and because he had dropped out he really did not qualify. He
said that his mom had been sick and unable to take him
to piano lessons but he was still practicing.
"Miss Hondorf...I've just got to play!" he insisted. I don't know what
led me to allow him to play in the recital. Maybe it was his persistence
or maybe it was something inside of me saying that it would be all right.
The night for the recital came. The high school gymnasium
was packed with parents, friends and relatives. I put Robby
up last in the program before I was to come up and thank all
the students and play a finishing piece. I thought that any damage he
would do would come at the end of the program and
I could always salvage his poor performance through
my "curtain closer." Well the recital went off without hitch.
The students had been practicing and it showed. Then Robby
came up on stage. His clothes were wrinkled and his hair looked like he' run
an egg-beater through it. "Why didn't he dress up like the other students?"
I thought. "Why didn't his mother at least make him comb his
hair for this special night?" Robby pulled out the piano
bench and he began. I was surprised when he announced
that he had chosen Mozart's Concerto #21 in C Major. I was
not prepared for what I heard next. His fingers were light on the
keys, they even danced nimbly on the ivories. He went from
pianissimo to fortissimo...from allegro to virtuoso. His suspended
chords that Mozart demands were magnificent! Never had I heard
Mozart played so well by people his age. After six and a half minutes
he ended in a grand crescendo and everyone was on their feet in wild
applause. Overcome and in tears, I ran up on stage and put my arms
around Robby in joy. "I've never heard you play like that Robby!
How'd you do it?" Through the microphone Robby explained:
"Well Miss Hondorf...remember I told you my mom was sick?
Well actually she had cancer and passed away this morning.
And well....she was born deaf, so tonight was the first
time she ever heard me play. I wanted to make it special." There
wasn't a dry eye in the house that evening. As the people from Social
Services led Robby from the stage to be placed into foster care,
I noticed that even their eyes were red and puffy and I thought to
myself how much richer my life had been for taking Robby as my
pupil. No, I've never had a protege’ but that night I became a
protege’...of Robby's. He was the teacher and I was the pupil.
For it is he, that taught me the meaning of perseverance and love
and believing in yourself and maybe even taking a chance in
someone. This is especially meaningful to me, since after serving
in Desert Storm, Robby was killed in the senseless bombing of the
Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City,
in April of 1995, where he was reportedly....
playing the piano.

Hugs are warm
Hugs are nice
Hugs are ways
To break the ice.

If you send me a hug
You won't regret
I'll hug you back
So you can't forget!

A hug is just a way to say...
I love you in a special way,
To tell that someone special,
I care about you in every way.

When you shed a tender tear
A hug is sure to be near.
When you're trembling in fear
A hug will come from someone dear.

Wrap your arms around someone near
In your hug is the circle of life.
A new beginning to an endless day
A ray of hope to light your way.

Take a hug and pass it on
Don't save them up it can't be done.
Share them with family and friends,
Share them whenever you can.

A hug will make you "aahh"
A hug will make you "oohh"
A hug will make you smile
A hug will make you feel great.

A hug lightens up your day
A hug throws away your loads
A hug strengthens your ties
A hug makes you feel important.

I AM WAITNG FOR THAT ONE
Jul 14, 2007 | 2:11PM

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

I am waiting for that One.

The one that sees me in the crowd, when I'm trying not to be noticed.

The one that watches me slip away to be alone, follows, finds me, and wipes away my tears with his own hands. The one that holds me tight and makes it all okay.

The one that goes after me when I run away, the one that fights for me, the one that grabs me by the arm, tells me he isn't going to let me go because he loves me. He doesnt give up on love. Ever.

The one that doesnt just stand in the rain with me, but dances in it with me. The one that kisses me in the rain. Because it means he's loving me through the storm.

The one that, when he looks at me, sees no one else.

The one that loves me fiercly, and forever.

That is why I wait. I don't know where you are, or who you are... but I love you.

THE FIREMAN
Jul 07, 2007 | 6:29PM
 REMEMBERING AARON

Now just try reading this without getting a tear in

your eye. I sure did!  ALOT! . It Is so touching.

*THE FIREMAN*

In Phoenix , Arizona , a 26-year-old mother stared

down at her 6 year old son, who was dying of

terminal leukemia. Although her heart was filled

with sadness, she also had a strong feeling of

determination. Like any parent, she wanted her

son to grow up and fulfill all his dreams. Now

  that was no longer possible

The leukemia would see to that. But she still

wanted her son's dreams to come true. She took

her son's hand and asked, "Billy, did you ever

think about what you wanted to be once you grew

up? Did you ever dream and wish what you would do

with your life?"

Mommy, "I always wanted to be a fireman when I grew

up."

Mom smiled back and said, "Let's see if we can

  make your wish come true."

Later that day she went to her local fire

department in Phoenix , Arizona , where she met

Fireman Bob, who had a heart as big as Phoenix

She explained her son's final wish and asked if

it might be possible to give her six-year-old son

a ride around the block on a fire engine

Fireman Bob said, "Look, we can do better that

that. If you'll have your son ready at seven

o'clock Wednesday morning, we'll make him an

honorary fireman for the whole day. He can come

down to the fire station, eat with us, go out on

all the fire calls, the whole nine yards! And if

you'll give us  his sizes, we'll get a real fire

uniform for him, with a real fire hat-not a toy

one-with the emblem of the Phoenix Fire

Department on it, a yellow slicker like we wear

and rubber boots. They're all manufactured right

here in Phoenix , so we can get them fast."

Three days later Fireman Bob picked up Billy

dressed him in his fire uniform and escorted him

from his hospital bed to the waiting hook and

ladder truck. Billy got to sit on the back of the

truck and help steer it back to the fire station

He was in heaven. There were three fire calls in

Phoenix that day and Billy got to go out on all

three calls. He rode in the different fire

engines, the paramedic's van, and even the fire

chief's car

He was also videotaped for the local news

program. Having his dream come true, with all the

love and attention that was lavished upon him, so

deeply touched Billy that he lived three months

longer than any doctor thought possible

One night all of his vital signs began to drop

dramatically and the head nurse, who believed in

the hospice concept that no one should die alone

began to call the family members to the hospital

Then she remembered the day Billy had spent as a

fireman, so she called the Fire Chief and asked

if it would be possible to send a fireman in

uniform to the hospital to be with Billy as he

  made his transition

The chief replied, "We can do better than that

We'll be there in five minutes

Will you please do me a favor?

When you hear the sirens screaming and see the

lights flashing, will you announce over the PA

system that there is not a fire? It's just the

fire department coming to see one of its finest

members one more time And will you open the window to

his room?

About five minutes later a hook and ladder truck

arrived at the hospital and extended its ladder

up to Billy's third floor open window

16 firefighters climbed up the ladder into

Billy's room

  With his mother's permission, they

hugged him and held him and told him how much they

loved him

With his dying breath, Billy looked up at the fire

chief and said

"Chief, am I really a fireman now?

"Billy, you are, and the Head Chief, Jesus, is holding

your hand," the chief said

With those words, Billy smiled and said

"I know, He's been holding my hand all day, and the

angels have beensinging

He closed his eyes one last time.

INSPIRED CHANGE

She found her freedom stirring within

It was a gentle personal hymn

Evoking free-wills marvelous wing

An assent that simply said:

"
I DON'T WANT IT ANYMORE"

It's purpose holds me back

Shades of shifting energies

Something joyful challenges space

Caught within a turbulent wind?

Hard choices to make?

Often we hold onto what we know

Even when it bleeds for change

Depression, Addictions, Poverty

A whole list of absurdities

That we secretly cherish within

Until we notice the sickening heart

Arouse the passions deep within

To call forth free-wills choice

One life to live

IT'S YOUR'S

You choose

You make the difference

YES, YOU!!!

vIt takes strength to be firm.
It takes courage to be gentle.

It takes strength to stand guard.
It takes courage to let down your guard.

It takes strength to conquer.
It takes courage to surrender.

It takes strength to be certain.
It takes courage to have doubt.

It takes strength to fit in.
It takes courage to stand out.

It takes strength to feel a friend's pain.
It takes courage to feel your own pain.

It takes strength to hide your own pains.
It takes courage to show them.

It takes strength to endure abuse.
It takes courage to stop it.

It takes strength to stand alone.
It takes courage to lean on another.

It takes strength to love.
It takes courage to be loved.

Happy Mothers Day to everyone! : ) hugs, lee Image and video hosting by TinyPic A newborn's conversation with God...
