The much awaited 9th edition of Miss Earth 2009 Coronation Night, the 3rd most prestigious and largest beauty pageant in the world will take place in Boracay Island on November 22, 2009 at the Boracay Ecovillage Convention Center as organized by Carousel Production and ABS-CBN.
Witness thereof as Miss Earth 2008 Karla Henry of the Philippines will pass the crown to the chosen winner of Miss Earth 2009 from almost 90 plus candidates all over the world.

Shriya Kishore is the attractive 22 year old daughter of Nirupama and Colonel Sanjay Kishore. Born in Mumbai, she did her schooling from Lawrence School in Lovedale, Ooty and has graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management from the Welcomgroup Graduate School of Hotel Administration (WGHSA) at the Manipal University in Karnataka, India. She excelled not only in academics but also in co-curricular activities, and sports. Before winning the Miss India Earth crown, she had also won the Miss Pune beauty contest in 2006. Shriya, like Ekta, gained a wild card entry into the Pantaloons Femina Miss India 2009.
Going back to the moment when her name was called out on stage, she says, “My name was called out first from the five of us and so, I didn’t have the time to react. Thankfully I didn’t have to go through nail-biting moments. However, I had faith in God and my own abilities so was confident to an extent. I had wanted to participate in the Miss India pageant ever since I was a child, to be precise, since I was in Class 3! I think that’s how the dream started for most of us, isn’t it?
