FUN TOURNEY CLUB
I am pleased to announce that The Fun Tourney Club is celebrating our first anniversary this month. Yes, we have been having so much fun so I wanted to update the original blog created by deliteful and also try to make it simpler for those that may still have some confusion.
Everyone should tell a joke DURING the tourney, or post on the tourney board for each month.
There are 2 lists: Invite list / Host list
Hosts:
a. Will have their choice of tourney game, entry fee, donation, and time to start.
b. Shall have a monthly tourney or more if you so choose.
c. Monthly can be by date or day, & of course, things come up no problem
d. Must be 24hrs.
e. Tournaments are invite only
f. NO VIP GAMES
g. IMPORTANT: put in notes of tourney: Fun Tourney List: have your jokes ready. So that all know which tourney list etc...
The object is to have various dates for each host during the month. Every host try to pick different days/dates.
Notes for Hosts:
* Create your tourney, but skip the part about inviting. Check to see if you have it set up as to how you need it to be then go back and copy & paste the invite list from this blog.
* Hosts will inform other hosts of problem people and/or cheaters that may be on the list.
* All hosts help other hosts, check that tourney is invite only/how to cancel or any other questions.
* The host may(at their discretion) invite or decline others not on the list
* Hosts will discuss any person that is an issue (causing problems) to remove from the invite list if necessary
* Tourneys: mix up games & entry fees & donations (min 500g)
* I will make a post for our monthly tourneys on the board even though it is invite only to gain members - then all hosts can add to it for the month.
2) Players:
a. Must have fun & tell a joke during the tourney or on the tourney board thread for the month.
b. Don't have to join every tourney if not wanted, if you get an invite not wanted just delete it, no need to reply to the host
c. May remove name at any time
d. Must not cause problems or be rude to other members
e. Please feel free to give tips & hints to help other players on how to get higher scores

If you fear Friday the 13th, then batten down the hatches. This week's unlucky day is the first of three this year.
The next Friday the 13th comes in March, followed by Nov. 13. Such a triple whammy comes around only every 11 years, said Thomas Fernsler, a math specialist at the University of Delaware who has studied the number 13 for more than 20 years.

Here are 13 more facts about the infamous day, courtesy of Fernsler and some of our own research:
1. The British Navy built a ship named Friday the 13th. On its maiden voyage, the vessel left dock on a Friday the 13th, and was never heard from again.
2. The ill-fated Apollo 13 launched at 13:13 CST on Apr. 11, 1970. The sum of the date's digits (4-11-70) is 13 (as in 4+1+1+7+0 = 13). And the explosion that crippled the spacecraft occurred on April 13 (not a Friday). The crew did make it back to Earth safely, however.
3. Many hospitals have no room 13, while some tall buildings skip the 13th floor.
4. Fear of Friday the 13th — one of the most popular myths in science — is called paraskavedekatriaphobia as well as friggatriskaidekaphobia. Triskaidekaphobia is fear of the number 13.
5. Quarterback Dan Marino wore No. 13 throughout his career with the Miami Dolphins. Despite being a superb quarterback (some call him one of the best ever), he got to the Super Bowl just once, in 1985, and was trounced 38-16 by the San Francisco 49ers and Joe Montana (who wore No. 16 and won all four Super Bowls he played in).
6. Butch Cassidy, notorious American train and bank robber, was born on Friday, April 13, 1866.
7. Fidel Castro was born on Friday, Aug. 13, 1926.
8. President Franklin D. Roosevelt would not travel on the 13th day of any month and would never host 13 guests at a meal. Napoleon and Herbert Hoover were also triskaidekaphobic, with an abnormal fear of the number 13.
9. Superstitious diners in Paris can hire a quatorzieme, or professional 14th guest.
10. Mark Twain once was the 13th guest at a dinner party. A friend warned him not to go. "It was bad luck," Twain later told the friend. "They only had food for 12."
11. Woodrow Wilson considered 13 his lucky number, though his experience didn't support such faith. He arrived in Normandy, France on Friday, Dec. 13, 1918, for peace talks, only to return with a treaty he couldn't get Congress to sign. (The ship's crew wanted to dock the next day due to superstitions, Fernsler said.) He toured the United States to rally support for the treaty, and while traveling, suffered a near-fatal stroke.
12. The number 13 suffers from its position after 12, according to numerologists who consider the latter to be a complete number — 12 months in a year, 12 signs of the zodiac, 12 gods of Olympus, 12 labors of Hercules, 12 tribes of Israel, 12 apostles of Jesus, 12 days of Christmas and 12 eggs in a dozen.
13. The seals on the back of a dollar bill include 13 steps on the pyramid, 13 stars above the eagle's head, 13 war arrows in the eagle's claw and 13 leaves on the olive branch. So far there's been no evidence tying these long-ago design decisions to the present economic situation.

EDIT: Katryna is my middle daughter, (Ariesgirl here on grab) for those who dont know. She is going thru some difficult times right now.
The video is Angel by: Sarah McLachlan from the movie City of Angels. One of my all time favorite movies.
EDIT: She has overcome those problems and is expecting a baby girl just in time for Christmas :)

MEMORIES

Where has the time gone? It seems as if it was only yesterday that I was giving birth to my first of three children. Now, 23 years later we celebrate her birthday and planning her own first born childs birthday party for next weekend.
Most of you know Bryson's will be three on November 23rd, and now his new baby brother is due to arrive on November 24th. The excitement is growing with each passing day.
All these joyful events and I still hold my dear brother Roger's memory so near. It was this day, four years ago that he left us all too soon. I still miss him dearly. Always thinking of him, wishing he was here. Really, he IS here! in my memory he lives on forever. I love you Roger!
I've been sitting here playing tourneys and reflecting on the day we have shared and also thinking of Roger and missing him so damn bad it hurts! So, my thoughts are kinda scattered, but my heart is full of love, life, and laughter.
To celebrate Kristie's birthday we went to The Olive Garden and then to the mall to play. Bryson loved the new set up they have there, he had a smile glued to his face while he ran and played and played and played. Then he got another surprise(you wold have thought it was his birthday not Kristies). He seen Santa, sat on his lap and told him what he wants for Christmas "everything and a picture frame.." This is the first time he actually sat on Santas lap without a fuss, even smiled and said cheese for a great pic with Santa. Then it was off to the Carousel to ride the horse.
Ok, I have rambled on and on. But I also have a short poem I wanna share for Kristie and images of Roger too...
Happy Birthday Kristie, I love you my dear daughter
My Daughter, when I think of you,
My heart's so full of love.
I know that you were sent to me
As a gift from above.
I think of the child you once were,
And though the years go fast,
The days of sweet hugs and kisses,
Are memories that last.
The woman that you've now become,
Just fills my heart with pride.
The love and kindness that you show,
Comes from deep inside.
Thank you for the Daughter you are,
And company you lend.
You are not only my daughter,
But also my best friend.
This is something I wrote in Memory of Roger:

OCTOBER: Family, Friends, Fun!

October wasn't ALL about baseball and Halloween... It was also a chance to see the scenery, falling leaves and spend time with family and friends. Chattykathy43 came for a visit, then we went to Kentucky. The scenery is so pretty this time of year. I want to share a little taste of it all.
 Kimberly arranged this from a variety of colors found in our yard. 
The third week, Kathy came to visit us for a few days. She and Cathy are always up to something, and I just knew they would try something. maybe I was just lucky, but I had been bitten by the black cat in the above pic and was handicapped(maybe they felt sorry for me) and took it easy on me. We had a blast though, just never enough time to do everything.
We did go north and visited my family, then south to visit Cathy's family. making many stops at yard sales and flea markets. We even stopped in town to visit Elvis' birthplace and had a meal at one of my favorite spots. We also had mega fun here at home. I played cosmo queen and put that bleach stuff on Cat's hair. We cooked some tasty meals, played spades, and chatted ALOT.
     Keeping Cathy in the plastic cap too long had her tired, but it took it with my bum finger and thumb, a rare shot of me without my glasses reveals some of my pain. It was hard holding all those cards and sipping coffee and snacking too. LOL
These are shots taken at Elvis's birthplace, we sat on the fountain in front of the museum and even went up to the house.
   
The next weekend we went to Kentucky, and across the Cumberland Gap to see my Aunt in a nursing home, The birds are from inside the lobby area.
So, lets start our day with a walk and some breakfast, then we will end the day with laughter, coffee and a snack. We had so much fun! Mom laughed so hard she cried, we all did.         
We all got worn out, especially Leona... She had fun too, except on that mountain stop, it was chilly and windy and she was too ready to get into the warm vehicle. I had to make my favorite mountain stop, grab the camera!    
I dont know what we was thinking about, must run in our family, Cathy got a shot of us all "thinking" before we started Laughing our asses off...        
Oooo the scenery... breath taking!
     
By the time we came thru Chattanooga, the sun was setting behind Lookout Mountain, The colors was AWESOME!  
I hope you enjoyed a peek into some of our fun filled October!

Sharing The Beauty From Our Yard

Let me tell you 'bout the birds & the bees, and the flowers and the trees, and the cats and the dogs, and the mushrooms too?... (Was you singing along?) There's lots to see sitting on the front porch. So come take a coffee break with me and view nature from our yard.
Oooh, the humming birds, red birds, and even a squirrel? We have several feeders for them all.

We dont know what these next 3 are. They have grown into trees after being here so long.
Mushrooms..... I think the rains brought these. LOL

Well, it's time for a refill and a game or two. Sure hoped you enjoyed Singing along with nature in our yard. As you can see, NASCAR & swimming isn't my only sport.

Gramma Brags AGAIN...

Where do I start? It's been awhile since I took the time to blog. Lots has happened since last time. We've moved, been staying busy inside and out. We've done alot around the house and put a pool up plus other outdoor fun things. So it has been busy and exciting for us all.
Katryna graduated High School, The babies are growing and growing in more ways than one........ I've had a birthday, got a new PC, finally. Bryson had to have some dental surgery. All went well with that. Everyone seems to be doing well.
Soooooo onto some exciting news, Oooh, first let me say today is my mom's birthday.

this is a shot of her cutting a slice of Katryna's graduation cake.
We are planning a cookout with cake and ice cream and lots of other fun Saturday. Including shopping. All the kids are suppose to be here.
Onto some other news... Some are waiting to hear this.....
Bryson and Chloe are going to have a brand new baby brother, due November 30th.
Kristie just found out today it's a boy. Nice birthday gift for mom. She and Jessie are celebrating their Anniversary this weekend too.
Also, Katryna is expecting her first child sometime in March... too early to tell dates yet.

I think I'm caught up now, for the moment. More plans in store for next several days. Maybe add a road trip too. Hoping to get lots and lots of pictures.

Everyone has to tell a joke DURING tourney, or at least post on the tourney board for each month. Hint: go on the www, search one liner jokes copy the jokes only & when you print, click selection only.
Looking for those who would like to play & those who will hold monthly tournaments. Please post it here, by specifying: host - & date preferred & invite to play.

Q: How many women with MENOPAUSE does it take to change a light bulb?
Woman's Answer: One! ONLY ONE!!!! And do you know WHY? Because no one else in this house knows HOW to change a light bulb! They don't even know that the bulb is BURNED OUT!! They would sit in the dark for THREE DAYS before they figured it out. And, once they figured it out, they wouldn't be able to find the #&%!* light bulbs despite the fact that they've been in the SAME CABINET for the past 17 YEARS! But if they did, by some miracle of God, actually find them, 2 DAYS LATER, the chair they dragged to stand on to change the STUPID light bulb would STILL BE IN THE SAME SPOT!!!!! AND UNDERNEATH IT WOULD BE THE WRAPPER THE FREAKING LIGHT BULBS CAME IN!!! BECAUSE NO ONE EVER PICKS UP OR CARRIES OUT THE GARBAGE!!!! IT'S A WONDER WE HAVEN'T ALL SUFFOCATED FROM THE PILES OF GARBAGE THAT ARE A FOOT DEEP THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE HOUSE!! IT WOULD TAKE AN ARMY TO CLEAN THIS PLACE! AND DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON WHO CHANGES THE TOILET PAPER ROLL!!

Hello to all my friends.
Ms Mary here, most of you know that I have been living in Alabama and traveled often to TN & MS to see my family.
I have three daughters, a grandson, granddaughter, one on the way. Also My mom and other family in MS/TN. My extended family is in OH & KY.
I love to write personal stories and add details so that you can get a visual of it all. LOL seems that when I start writing something I feel, I just let my fingers go and go.
I also love snagging, even moreso, making tags... then sharing them with all!
Enjoy, and I will try to update "Gramma's Brag Blog" and "Gramma Brag's Again" as often as I can.
