You've been Tagged!
Dec 27, 2005 | 1:20AM
Hi! I apologize for my unoriginality and my plagiarism, but this is such a cool idea to circulate throughout grab. I decided I would grab the ball and run with it!
The topic is "7 things", with the subtopics being to do before I die, That I cannot do, that attract me to my mate, that I say most often, a book or series I love, movies I watch over & over, and finally the 7 grab members I'm going to "tag" to do this also. Here we go:

1. 7 things I would like to do before I die: adopt a kid or two; build my dream house; find my birth siblings; publish a book; get another degree; and do a little travelling.

2. 7 things I cannot do: scuba dive; drive a manual transmission; pilot a plane; sing; snow ski; handle meanness; or write HTML code.

3. 7 things that attracted me to my mate: his smile; his laugh; his sexy chest; his smarts; his sexuality; his emotional ways (crying at movies, playing with babies, etc); and the way he elevates my spirit and self-esteem.

4. 7 things I say most often: bite me; let's rock; no way Jose; get outta town; know what I mean jelly bean; what goes around comes around; and "Mommy's" home (whenever I walk in the front door talking to my dog!)

5. 7 books or series that I love: Friends; That 70's show; The Biggest Loser; Big Brother; Survivor; ER; and Reba

6. 7 Movies I watch over & over again: Booty Call; Jerry Maguire; Pretty Woman; Dennis the Menace; Stepmom; and Big Daddy

7. 7 people on Grab that I'm tagging to do this too: noclue; KoolLeo; Cheryl2005; Mylifeisazoo; Cow_House; AuntieDorie; and HauteMama.

Top 10 Things I Like About the Internet
As I started thinking about trying to limit what I like about the Net to just 10, I realized that the things I appreciate the most actually go hand-in-hand. My items are common, simple, universal, and appealing to all levels of intelligence and all types of personalities. Here they are and not really in any particular order:
1. Meeting people from all over the world (from the USA to Estonia to Australia!)
2. Learning; easily getting help or answers (Gee whiz-there's a million resources!)
3. Sharing ideas & getting new ones! (this communication is so exciting to me!)
4. Staying current on news and everything (I basically quit reading the newspaper)
5. Keeping sane - curing boredom (you can always find something to do!)
6. Blogs (writing them, reading them, learning about them...)
7. Comedy, music and all kinds of entertainment (not big on chat, but forums are neat)
8. Playing games & being competitive (and I never really was before-great for my pride)
9. Viewing clip art, animations, & Photos (our imaginations are so unique & interesting)
10. Participating in various causes & interests (and feeling good about myself)
What's even more interesting & exciting is that if I were to do this again tomorrow, my list would change. Depending on the events of the day in my life, the Internet serves countless purposes for me. Today entertainment, tomorrow technology, next week, possibly business, investing, entrepreneurship...the opportunities are just endless!
What's your opinion?

When is it okay to lie?
Dec 23, 2005 | 12:58PM
Here are my thoughts on when it is okay to lie:

I'm going to be a little serious & outspoken & frank for just a minute. I was enjoying reading some of the other grab blogs. I came across a few answering this particular "blog idea of the day" - so many self-righteous preachy responses! I couldn't believe how many lied about lying!
In actuality, everyone, EVERYone lies.

Eat your spinach so you can grow up & be a big boy"
If you want Santa Claus to come, you better go to sleep.
If you get good grades, you'll be successful.
If you're bad you'll go to hell.
Video games & television cause violence.

Every day we "stretch" the truth. Even keeping a secret is actually a lie. You're not telling the truth, so you're lying. If I ask you a direct question, and you spare my feelings, you're lying.

The blog idea/question was when is it okay to lie? Tell the truth right now - there ARE times when it's okay.
As a matter of fact, I'm lying right now!

If I could have any car in the world, the one I'd want is...
the car in the movie "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang"

Would you ever...
Dec 19, 2005 | 1:01AM
Would you ever...
bungee jump? surf? run a marathon? eat squid? eat cow brain? eat a living insect? walk on hot coals? go on a reality show? scuba dive? ... with sharks?
Maybe there's something wrong with me (or right - depending on who's answering...) but I would NOT do any of those things EXCEPT be on a reality show, preferably one with the least pain & embarrassment!

P.S. Believe it or not, I have tried surfing - not the most graceful or balanced person in the world!
Besides, the very first time I tried it, the board was attached to my ankle, like "they" do, so when a big ole wave came along and knocked me up in the air, that cotton-pickin' surfboard came right down on me, chopping me right on my foot.
Turns out I chipped some bones on the top of my dad-burn foot. And, to make matters worse, I was attending summer school that summer (of high school) and had to do so on freakin' crutches!
Needless to say, I never tried surfing again!

Which personality trait has gotten you into the mo
Dec 19, 2005 | 12:48AM
The one personality trait I have that's gotten me into the most trouble is: actually I don't know whether to say it's my NAIVETE or my INNOCENT TRUSTING NATURE.

And one example is: just the simple fact that I am always getting my feelings hurt or being subjected to the old familiar "rude awakening" - I tend to think for the most part that all people are basically good. Hard to change my way of thinking like that. So, I learn to cope as I go...

But, I cannot leave this topic without mentioning one other thing: I am the most impatient driver in the world AND really, I'm an excellent driver - I just have lead feet and cannot stand to (have to) tailgate ('cos the jerks won't get out of the "passing" lane & let me by) and can't stand to be tailgated.
I've gotten more tickets than I care to own up to! Several years back, I had so many points against my license that it got suspended for 30 days. (I know you don't think I actually didn't drive during that time, do ya? But I definitely did have to spend the night in jail for my stubbornness!)
