Write a true story about being late for something

I can remember one time i was late for work maybe one time but that was when i was 14 and i thought my alarm was set and here the lighting and all that from the storm had the power go out. And i didn't know it was thundering out until i woke up and i was 5 min late for work. So i had to call them tell them what happen and they were not mad at me.  It was very horrible . But that was the only time i was ever late for something.
