Last week was a really great week, marked by standout performances that gave me chills. This week, it was different. The good were bad and the bad were good. What's happening?

It started out with them all writing their own songs. Then they were told that only two of them could sing their original song and they had to fight over them. Mig and Deanna got to do their own songs and they both did a great job with them.

Suzie started off with Start Me Up by the Rolling Stones. She rocked it and had a great time up there. She sang with abondon, did agreat mic Jagger imitation and had fun. Went over to the other contestants and sang with them, then did a stage dive into the crownd. I had fun just watching her. Great job.

JD - Wearing stupid looking shades and then keeping his hand in his pants just creeps me out. It must be a girl thing, cuz I just don't get him. He sang "Cold as Ice" and did OK. He didn't suck tonight like he has in the last few weeks. I was shocked that I almost didn't hate him. He missed a few notes, but wrote that off to "interpretation". Yeah, whatever. A fairly solid performance. Darn it...

Deanna sang an original song called My Truth. Did a solid job. I usually hate her voice and stage presence, but she did pretty good. The song really fit her voice. They said she was in her "saftey zone", but the song really fit her. If it was something else, she wouldn't have done so well. I liked her though.

Ty sang Proud Mary and started it out slow and soulful, then cranked it up to rock and roll. He didn't have something, so it didn't move me, but it was still a good show. He had the three girls sing backup for him. They did well, also. OK, but not great.

Mig sang an original song, Do or Die, and also did a good job with it. It was more rock and roll than his other songs have been. He kicked it up and did alright. Weird pants with what looked like a jock strap, but whatever. He was playing the Rock Star and he played it well.

Marty, my favorite, did a song I'm not aware of, I Alone, and did alright, but screamed more of it than sang it. I was realy not impressed. I hated the song and his vocals were not great. I was shocked that this week, JD did better than Marty. I love Marty but tonight was not his night. Sorry, dude.

Jordis sang Dream On by Aerosmith. She even had the scarf on the mic. She started out OK, but seemed like she was trying too hard or something. She was freaked because there was a note that she could not hit in practice. She could have rearrainged it, but she didn't. She tried it straight up and didn't make it. It was terrible. I felt so bad for her. It was a good effort, but she failed tonight.

Let's review. JD didn't suck. Marty did. Deanna didn't suck. Jordis did. Suzie rocked it and Ty didn't quite connect. I have no idea who should go next week. I'm guessing Deanna, based on past performances, but it's a toss up this week.

The polling at the end had Deanna, Ty, and Jordis in the bottom three. Will they be there tomorrow? Who will go home? What did you think about this week? Tell me in the forum...
