My new puppy
Aug 14, 2006 | 2:15PM

I got a new puppy this week and we call him Prince. He is 9 weeks old and a huge mess :) He hates being outside so he will sit and cry for hours if we dont let him in the house or if one of us is outside with him.. Today he discovered a new trick, he got from the little side yard that is his to our big back yard which is where we park our cars and started crying at the back door there. That meant going through the side yard, into a bigger back yard which is actually another back yard but we get to have it for ours, then going onto the concreted back yard for our cars.  He is part blue heeler which makes him a very intelligent dog, and i promise you he is very smart. This dog is 9 weeks old and can already sit up and beg and is workig on learning to tell us when he needs to go outside. Anyone have any ideas on  how we can break him of crying all the time??

my adoption story
Aug 11, 2006 | 4:05PM

Hi all, many of you have heard this story but quite a few of you are new to my friends list or may never have read it before. This is a story that will bring tears to your eyes and goose bumps to your arms, because its the story of how I found my daughter I gave up for adoption nearly 32 years ago.

I grew up in a home that was abusive and wounded up living in a children's home for a while and then in a foster home for a year. By the time I was 15 I was in Dallas and living on my own basically. I had no supervision because I was living in a halfway house and their only rules were we either have a job or be in school. I wounded up dropping out of High School and going from job to job. Eventually I met a man that I believed I was in love with and wounded up getting pregnant. Because I was only 17 at the time  I made the decision that she would have a better life than the one i could give her and went to San Antonio where I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl and gave her up for adoption.

Over the years I would look for her because I wanted to know she was okay and let her know about some family health issues we have in our family. I even went to some of the different talk shows in hopes that someone would pick up my story but no one did. I had three kids other than  the one that I gave up for adoption by this time and they knew they had a sister out there somewhere's that may one day come knocking on our door. They encouraged me to try and find her, but two years ago I said enough trying. I told God that if he wanted me to find her he was going to have to show me the way or I would meet her in heaven one day. Little did I know what was in store for me.

Six years ago, I enrolled in college to become a teacher, and started out in Dallas, but a year later my husband and I moved to Commerce for both of us to go to school. I had met and married my second husband only a year earlier and we were both wanting to go to school, he was mainly in it for me though so that I could fulfill my dream of becoming a teacher. For the next five years I worked on my degree, and last Fall I began student teaching in a small town about 20 min from Commerce. At the same time another young lady also began student teaching and we started talking and became fast friends. One day just before school started we went to lunch and something led me to share my story with her. She started crying and said that's my story I was born on Nov. 22, 1963 in San Antonio, Texas.

We spent the next few months getting to know one another and letting her get to know her sisters and brother. Then the week after Christmas we sent off the paper work to Austin and the week after New Years the paper work came back that yes she was my daughter. The only thing we know is that it had to be from God only, because we had both been on the same campus for over 5 years and had never run into each other or even taken any classes together. We both should have long graduated, but I struggled with Math and she did two internships at Walt Disney World.
