Wow. Update!
Aug 14, 2008 | 8:00PM

Haha It's been a LONG time.

I'll try and sum this up as well and good as I can.

I got my job, I now bag groceries at the local grocery store.

I make good money (heck any is good for a 14 yr old!)

I'm probably the youngest and smallest person there...and people reallyyy underestimate me.

But I'm pretty strong for my size and age. Haha I can lift more than half the guys.

Summer's almost over. I'll be going into 9th grade. But this is my last year at middle school.

Not my first in highschool. Our district has a funky way of doing things. Other than that, life is

okay. Having a job is great, apart from the sucky bosses.

Well...updates soon! I really need to get back in the swing of things on here! Haha.

Love you all,

danielle

Scoliosis Update
Jan 28, 2008 | 1:09PM

Sorry It took so long! I had my appointment recently on January 23rd, my curves, I didn't knwo I had three!

Here's some stats:

December 1st:

C: 18* (non braced)

T:  25*

L:  30*

January 23rd: (in brace)

C:  16*

T:  20*

L:  22*

My doc says this is a great improvement, and I know now that my brace is not a lost cause! I even grew 1/2 and inch! After periodically being stuck at sam height for a yr or two and then shooting half an inch, I grew half an inch is 2 months!

I should be about done with my brace starting in December, but I won't be too upset if I'm not-I'll keep yah'll posted!

Love, Dani

Okay today is August 14th 2008 and you guys may want to see my update!

C: 19* (hopefully this was just error, if the top curve grows too much i MAY need a milwaukee brace...augh)

T: 19*

L:15*

My doctor is very proud of the progress. which is a relief. that xray was on may 21st. I go back on the seventeenth of september. I hope that summer didn't upset my back to much...

scoliosis
Dec 27, 2007 | 1:44PM

IN case you don't know scoliosis is the curvature of the spine. I am lucky enough to have this "disease" because it truly akes you thankful. It makes me thankful for when someone says "you look nice today" even when you can clearly see a bump protruding out of my back, and when someone makes me laugh either by the look on their face when they punch my brace, or when they hug me even though they know its painful to them. Scoliosis has made me thankful for what I have and the pleasures of life, and i have met many great people and seen those that have crumbled under the new digs I have. Next time you see someone in a scoliosis brace, don't give wierd looks or treat them differently , its not a choice to wear it, its mandatory or I will have spinal fusion. A brace can be a wonderful thing, I have learned to love and cherish my brace, I have even foudn 101 reasons to love my brace a wonderful webpage full of truthful yet funny reasons. Heres the link: http://spinekids.com/bracing2.shtml

I am happy that I have scoliosis, it's great to see that I am perfect even with a curved spine I am still a friendly humorous person with plenty of people who love and support me. And I would do the same for them. Pretty much I'm jsut telling how hard it is, yet how at the saem time it's really a wonderful thing to have a brace. :)

I do have one other reason for this posting. Tell people, anyone to get their spine screened for scoliosis 3/10 women have scoliosis totalling in 2/5 people. It's not deadly but the effects may be. I was lucky enough to have a very watchful family doctor who also noticed my astigmatism at  a young age, preserving my sight and now preserving my spine. So please, tell all people you can to get screenings not only for their children but for themselves, their family friends everyone. Scoliosis can be less frequent in people or be helped if you only tell peopel and fight for all schoools to screen for it. Scoliosis should be right on the list with eye and ear examms, what good is sight and hearing if you can walk?

Smiles

Have You Ever Loved Someone So much you couldnt explain, and you talked to them over the phone or by email or IM, and you loved them so much-they could tell you you would die the next day and you would smile, all you want to do is reach out to them and hug and hold them for days on end, never letting go no matter what they did you would never let go? Well I'm lucky enough to have many of these friends, sometimes life sends you these sort of friends, the friends that last through all...even the friends you've been friends with for 10 years plus who have never even disagreed on what to get for dinner or what movie to watch, the friends that you spend hours saying , "no you, no please, you pick" These are what true friends are.

Twins
Dec 08, 2007 | 9:50AM

What would be the best and worst things about having a twin? The best thing would definitely be having 2 kids u can m ake look exactly the same! I know they would hate it...but I would love to dress up twins the same, also you can get more than one kid but have them at the same time-so they rnt like only kids...but they arent like 5 years apart either!

The downside would be that one would be favored, like all kids-but this would hit harder because niether one is exactly younger or older, and also if one fails and one aces a test-you would compare them as they had the same tests....also mixing them up may be a nother problem...not for me...btu for others :D

Grown Up
Nov 23, 2007 | 7:28PM

How willl you know when you're "grown-up"?

I'll know when I don't need my parents anymore and I can do things without

needing someone to patch up the mistakes I make. I'll know when I can drive and

live on my own and do pretty much whatever I want. I'll know when I can get my contraption

(TSLO) off. I'll know when I stop growing. I'll know when I see my first bills and buy my first

house and car and go to college. I'll know when my parents die and I have no one....but thats'

a while off.

It was so fun, I love being scared..omg there's too much to explain...ugh, ok so there's this themepark in shakopee minnesota and during october its called valleyscare, people with chainsaws chase you and theres like 5 or 6 haunted house/mazes. So, its really fun, its evry friday saturday sunday of october and halloween, it's the most fun best thing in the world, if you ever visit minnesota you must go! not only to valleyfair but to valleyscare too! Take my advice, your missing out if you odnt..oh, and if you dont have a ton of money...either get panda express or bring your own food. Or else you'll be paying 3.75 for gatorade liek i did, biggest mistake of the day, well-cheers!Smiley
