More xmas shopping ...

in the bag

Before Miuccia Prada catapulted her plain black Nylon bag with the triangular Prada logo as the must-have chic and luxury accessory for the I-don't-care-splurging fashionistas worldwide, Lesportsac had done it 30 years earlier.  LeSportsac has become the gold standard brand of nylon fashion bags, accessories, and luggage worldwide - Japan and Europe being the leading fans.

Now, every hip young artist or designer, and even entertainers (most recently The O.C. and Gwen Stefani) are jumping on the LeSportsac-bag-wagon.  It's about time they got some serious worldwide recognition and status.

I had my first bag 19 years ago, and I've been buying them since. Guess you can call me a loyal brand consumer.  I always get asked why I love this brand and why I need more than 30+ of them:
(1) It's made from parachute nylon so it's light and durable;
(2)
which is perfect for traveling.
(3) Functional, chic and never outdated.
(4) It's CHEAP! Yes, AFFORDABLE!

Today, I bought 2 totes that I'm giving out as gifts (that's one of the prints above - very cute), and I think I'll buy a couple for myself too.  It's funny that I get more usage out of my $54 tote than my Prada $800 tote.  I really don't care for Prada anyway... It was a gift, and I've only used it for a week or two.  It's in a dustbag packed away in storage.  I guess I could sell it and buy the Wii for the bf - LaughOutLoud.

O' Happy Monday!!!
Nov 20, 2006 | 3:31PM

It’s sunny and hot in Los Angeles (86 degrees). Gah, I’m actually wearing a ribbed tank top in the middle of November. Also, it’s the first week at my new job –  just loving it.  I’ve booked a flight to Austria – very excited about the trip.  Oh, and I found a crisp $20 in front of the department store which, of course, I applied to my purchase.  And the sales lady at my usual skincare counter thought I was 25, and almost had a stroke when I told her my age.  Tee-hee.  I told her that I’ve been using this product since my early 20’s and she was so impressed that she called the regional manager on the spot.  Apparently, I am their number one success story.  She loaded up my shopping bag with all kinds of samples which will probably last me a good three months.  Now that’s great customer service.

iNteract: Game Over
Nov 19, 2006 | 10:50PM

It's sickening, truly disgusting, that people are getting shot over the release of a game console.  It's a friggin' toy. I really don't see the appeal in sleeping in a tent or being caged in by metal barricades under police surveillance just to be one of the millions to own one.  Don't they have jobs? Or families? Or school to go to, or any semblance of responsibility whatsoever?  Don't they have a life?

The sad part is that most of these people only wanted to get them so they could turn around and make a profit on the people that really, really wanted it.  And the saddest part is that people will pay thousands for it.

None of this surprises me anymore. Shows what society has come to.  People are strange.

I wonder if the video game delivery guy arrived in an armored vehicle, wearing a bullet-proof vest, and accompanied by secret service men ...

My bf is a huge game nerd, so it was only natural to ask if he wanted the "coveted' PS3.  He said no, he hated Sony - post-PS2 Sony to be precise.  You have no idea how relieved I am to hear him say that.  I heart him Smiley

(1) Le Petite Prince - Eau de Toilette

The Le Petit Prince product line is based on the title character in Antoine de Saint-Exupery’s The Little Prince story book and was specially designed for children, though adults might wear it and love it too particularly because it's a light, clean scent.

Julian is always dabbling with my perfume so he'll really appreciate his very own fragrance. Plus, I'll get the bath bubble and lotion too.

I randomly found a pair of Sigerson Morrison shoes for only $37 -- retails $300!!!  Talk about dumb luck ... Many shoe fetishist cannot resist Sigerson Morrison's bright palette and signature aqua-green lining ...  My new pair is suede in fuchsia with a 1.25" kitten heel.  Rawr! I found an awesome pair in orange but, sadly, it wasn't my size.

Launched!
Oct 27, 2006 | 10:33AM
I launched my personal site and I'm getting positive feedbacks. Yay!  It's still in beta testing ... There is much work to be done on it but I'd figure I might as well launch it since I'm paying for the hosting service.  This weekend I'm going to wrestle Wordpress and get my blog site up and running in a week.  I'm excited about it.

Grrr... I have conflicting dates!
Oct 27, 2006 | 10:27AM
Oh man, a friend of mine is competing in the Cut & Paste Digital Design Tournament, and the event date falls on the same day of another friend's surprise birthday party.   I want to attend both events ... I guess I can skip the competition and head out to the afterparty that starts at 11PM.  Only if I can stay awake ... Heh.

I'm a slacker ...
Oct 25, 2006 | 2:17PM

and I like it like that!  Rock on!

I haven't been to the gym in ages ... Might as well just burn $75 every month.  It's been hard motifiying myself since my gym buddy bailed out on me.  Anyhoo, I cancelled my membership which incidently takes two months to cancel.  Oh well, I guess if I feel the need to burn some calories on the treadmill, I can slowly mosey my way over.  In the meantime, I've been working out at home.  I bought some more (heavier) weights and a powerhouse pilates dvd.  I've sculpted my arms and back to the way I want it so now it's only a matter of maintenance.  As for my legs, I get plenty of walking during the week.

I've FINALLY convinced myself to get a domain.  Actually, I bought two: 1. Online portfolio 2. Personal blog (powered by Wordpress).  I've spent the last couple of weeks designing my portfolio site ... but I've been slacking on that too.  It's about 65% done - it's just a matter of digging up old work and optimizing it for the web.  Man, I didn't realize how much work I've done in the last 10 years.

I've been slacking on my skincare too.  I've been using stuff that my girlfriend will soon be selling but she's in Paris right now, and I'm totally OUT of products!!!  In the meantime, I'm using samples from various skincare collections, and it's totally confusing my skin.  I'm breaking out!!!  And because they are all from various types of brands, I can't even pinpoint the source.  Grrrr ....  Thank God for concealers.

Plush Microbes!

- Salmonella (Salmonella typhimurium)
- Common Cold (Rhinovirus)
- Stomach Ache(Shigella)

"Most folks never realize how cute microbes can be when expanded 1,000,000 times and then fashioned into cuddly plush. Until now, that is. Keep one on your desktop to remind yourself that there is an "invisible" universe out there filled with very small things that can do incredible damage to much bigger things. Then go and wash your hands. Lather, rinse, repeat."

Marni-esque
Oct 23, 2006 | 5:43PM

I paid off three credit cards early this year, and the companies upgraded my limit ... it's outrageous 'cos Marni now has an online store, and I feel the urge to exercise these cards - again.
