I expressed NO opinion either way on the "freedom of speech" issue; my opinions were regarding the hypocrites who demand one thing, then act to the contrary.

Freedom of Speech

The thing that bugs me the most about this issue is that the members who are screaming, whining, and demanding freedom of speech are the ones who are telling other posters to shut up, to "don't tell me what to do", to "mind your own business" to "go post somewhere else" and so on. It is so clearly NOT about freedomn of speech, but rather about BEING RIGHT.

There is a lot of arrogance and misplaced sense of entitlement from those who feel wronged, and their supporters. I used to post all the time in various thread topics, and often some jerk would come in and ruin it for everybody else. According to the "freedom of speechers", I am entiltled to say this, but according to arrogance, I am supposed to shut up and mind my own business.

I am not American, I am not in America, and I would imagine that not all moderators are American. Grab is a privately owned business, not Government-owned, and may choose to conduct business with a person, or not. The ideanthat others should shut up and listen to the loudest complainer makes the complaint seem a rediculous waste of Moderator and Staff time and energy. Some threads are little more than attempts to incite a virtual riot, and those involved sometimes need to be read the Riot Act by Mods and Staff.

I have the right to read threads or to not read threads; to post, or not to post. I mistakenly read one thinking I would find an amusing story, and instead I am offended by those who insist on beating a dead horse, when they perhaps should go find a new horse, considering how dissatisfied they are with what they have. Grab is not the only game site on the World Wide Web (note: the Internet does not belong to the USA; it's global), so if someone is unhappy here, why would they stay?

So, what governs you, dear reader? A true desire for freedom of speech, or arrogance & the need to be right? My money is on the screamers telling me to shut up, thus violating their own alleged doctrines (hint: that's arrogance).

I'm troubled enough to fianlly start this blog. Mostly, I did it because the "about me" on my profile page doesn't allow enough space for my whole essay, and I didn't care to edit it down any further.
