The Road Home
May 17, 2008 | 6:11PM

Hi everyone, sorry it has been so long since my last post.

Life has been hectic.

The following poem was found amongst Aunty Trixies papers after she died.

I thought it would be something she would want shared.

Hope you all enjoy it.

The Road Home

Author

Trixie June Rudder

When I come to the end of the road

Find the sun has set for me.

I want no sighs or gloom filled room

Why cry for a soul set free?

Miss me a little - but not for long!

And now with your head bowed low

Remember the love that we once shared!

Miss me a little - but let me go!

For this is a journey we all must take

And each must go alone.

It’s all part of the Masters plan,

A step on the road to home.

When you are lonely and sick of heart,

Go to the friends we know.

And bury your sorrow in doing good deeds.

Miss me - but let me go!

Time to celebrate!!!!!!!!!

Aunty Trixie has gone home to be with her Jesus.

Wednesday and Thursday she was talking about her Jesus coming to get her. Friday she slept most of the time and was not up to talking to us. Then in the early hours of this morning when the family went in to turn her over she was gone. Very peacefully in her sleep.

Thankfully we were able to keep her home until the end. Mainly due to her eldest daughter who is a Doctor and could co-ordinate her treatment. Also to the efforts of her other children who put their lives on hold for the final weeks. The Lord smoothed the way for us all to be able to concentrate on sharing her final weeks. There were no problems with taking time off work. We had a roster so that there were two or three with her at all times and just had fun with her it was a precious time.

It is a very sad time for us all but at the same time we are relieved it is over and she is well again.

Thank you all for the many prayers that were said for her they did help. Yes she was on pain medication the last few weeks but much less than the doctors expected and at no point was it neccesary to sedate her. It was very peaceful.

God Bless you all

Thank you all again.
Dec 07, 2007 | 9:29PM

I have sat at my computer many times to write this and not been able to find the words.

To start with thank you all for your wonderful prayers Aunty Trixie has remained pain free and side effects free through all her treatment. I asked her last week how she was really feeling and her reply was 'A little bit uncomfortable in the tummy and a bit tired but I am doing ok'.

She had a scan last week and saw the oncologist this week. She can not have anymore treatment as her liver counts and white blood cells are too low. She was told to go home take more of her pain meds as she needs them and to contact palative care that it is a matter of weeks. We are thankful that she will still be with us at christmas time.

She is a special lady, she went straight from the oncologists office to the blood bank to thank the red cross people for all they have done for her. She has rang family who live a long way away to say her goodbyes and continues to try to make it easier for her family that are close. She is also still taking church services at the little country churches in the area. Although the one this coming sunday will probably be her last.

I just thank God for holding her close in his loving arms to ease her way through this sickness. She is one of his special angels here on earth.

Your continued prayers will be greatly appreciated.

God Bless you all.

Maree

Update on Prayer Request
Jul 30, 2007 | 6:31PM

To start with I want to thank everyone for all your prayers. It does help knowing you are all out there as part of Gods prayer chain around our world.

Aunty Trixie has now seen the oncologist specialist. The prognosis was about what we expected. It is too late for surgery. She was given 9 months which is a blessing as we were not expecting that much time with her.

She has a complete peace about it all. She has always walked a close walk with God in her life. As my hubby says she is in a win win situation. If God chooses to heal her she has more years with family. If he takes her to be with him she wins big time.

Aunty Trixie's thinking is that great she has more time to build good memories for us all.

We are still praying for healing also that any treatment she has be pain free. So far God has been good in that area. She had to have a liver biopsy and had no pain during the whole procedure. She has just had her first dose of chemo with no side effects at all.

She is believing in faith that she will remain strong and healthy to continue doing the things she loves. Such as she is a lay preacher and is scheduled to take a church service in one of our country churches in two weeks and is still preparing. Please pray also that she is able to continue with this.

Again thank you everyone for all your prayers.

God Bless

Maree

Urgent Prayer Request Please
Jul 16, 2007 | 5:52PM

Oh dear where to begin?

I have just found out that my aunt has pancreatic cancer. Please pray for Gods healing that would be the most fantastic outcome.

This lady has touched so many lives in so many posative ways. If the Lord chooses to give her healing the number of people that would become believers are too many to count. She has always lived her life as a witness to God. She is a lay preacher and would give her last possesion to someone who needed it.

If God decides it is her time to come home to him it is only us that are left who will have a hard time with it. She is the glue that holds our widespread family together. She is the youngest of 8 brothers and sisters but has always been the one everyone looks to for advice etc.

We are believing in Gods healing, so please pray for this but also pray that Gods loving arms relieve any pain she is feeling.

My Aunty Trixie has been a mother to me for as long as I can remember and I am finding this very hard. Can I please have prayer for strength to get through this time.

Thank you

Maree

I wont be around much but it is all good
Feb 26, 2007 | 1:11AM

Lots of things have been happening for us this last few months.

First my husband and step son did get permanent residency here in Australia. Then the restaurant my hubby was manager of was franchised out so he was out of a job. He has been applying for jobs everyday and not getting one, very frustrating for him. He does not cope very well with being at home all the time as he is a workaholic. Then in one week he was offered a managers job at a local bakery and also had the chance to start our own restaurant.

So needless to say we decided to start our own. Hubby had owned restaurants on and off for years in Michigan but this is the first one here in Australia. The last 10 days have been very hectic with preperations for opening day. Also deciding on our menu getting it printed etc. not only an everyday menu but also a function menu as we have an area that seats 250 people.

Our restaurant is called Our Place Bistro, we wanted something that would make people feel that it is their place and hopefully they will come back again and again. We are open 11am to 9pm 7 days a week, I will have time off as we do not want our little boy Mikey to feel deserted. So I will be around to play games sometimes but wanted to let all my friends know why I have disappeared. We opened today Monday the 26th Feb.

We would appreciate your prayers that things will run smoothly.

God Bless all my friends I will miss spending time with you all everyday but will be online as much as I can.

love Maree

Footprints in the Sand

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach

with the Lord.

Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.

In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.

Sometimes there were two sets of footprints,

other times there were one set of footprints.

This bothered me because I noticed

that during the low periods of my life,

when I was suffering from

anguish, sorrow or defeat,

I could see only one set of footprints.

So I said to the Lord,

"You promised me Lord,

that if I followed you ,

you would walk with me always.

But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of

my life there have only been one set of footprints

in the sand.

Why, when I need you most, you have not been there

for me?"

The Lord replied,

"The times when you have seen only one set of footprints

in the sand,

is when I carried you."

This poem has helped me through some very hard times in my life, so I just wanted to share it with you all.

Those who are going through their hard times I hope it helps, and for the others it is really good to be reminded that God is with us always.

love and hugs to all

What age are you?
Dec 04, 2006 | 6:14PM

I am doing pretty good seeing as I am 49.

Thank you MissSwiz for this site.

***You Are 27 Years Old***

Under 12: You are a kid at heart. You still have an optimistic life view - and you look at the world with awe.

13-19: You are a teenager at heart. You question authority and are still trying to find your place in this world.

20-29: You are a twentysomething at heart. You feel excited about what's to come... love, work, and new experiences.

30-39: You are a thirtysomething at heart. You've had a taste of success and true love, but you want more!

40+: You are a mature adult. You've been through most of the ups and downs of life already. Now you get to sit back and relax.

Prayer Request
Nov 08, 2006 | 3:52PM

This week we submitted the final paperwork for my husband and step son to get permanent residency here in Australia. So we are waiting waiting waiting and stressing as to what the answer will be.

Added to this is the fact that my husbands work has just sent out an email asking for proof of permanent residency by the 20th of November. They have had 3 managers from the sydney area deported in the last month as they were here illegally.

Now my husband is not here illegally he has a bridgeing visa, but that is not permanent residency. We were told that once all the paperwork was submitted it would only take about a week for a disicion to be made.

Please pray that an answer will arrive quickly and it will give them permanent residency.

Thank you my friends.
