fun is where you find it
Jan 23, 2009 | 11:34PM
Something wonderful happened on January 15th 2009 in Liverpool Street Station. As people were rushing to go to work, music started playing and everybody got into it. They suddenly started dancing, young and old, doing the same steps, the same arm moves, all in harmony!

to all my friends
Jan 22, 2009 | 12:58AM
When I am deeply pondering, I often recollect the many treasures I have found in Friendship and Respect. So many times from past mistakes, I've learned how not to be. I heeded words of wise advice from those who helped me see that Life is short, and all that counts are Friends that we have made; for Kindliness leaves memories which Time can never fade.
For if we wait for "better days" to act on good intention, the Future soon will pass us by without the slightest mention. The Past is gone, the Future hid . . . so while we live and strive, If any person we can aid, our memory will thrive. I've found through long experience that helping in this way, will make this world a better place--- and others' woes allay.
If I pass on to those I meet this wisdom I've been taught, I know they'll have the best in Life of that which can't be bought.
may you all know how blessed you've made my life.

through the eyes of a child
Jan 20, 2009 | 1:44AM
If I could see the world, Through the eyes of a child. What a wonderful world this would be. There'd be no trouble and no strife, Just a big happy life. With a bluebird in every tree.
what a wonderful world this would be
I could see right, no wrong. I could see good, no bad. I could see all the good things, In life I've ever had. If I could see the world, Through the eyes of a child. What a wonderful world this would be.
If I could see the world, Through the eyes of a child. Smiling faces would greet me all the while. Like a lovely work of art, It would warm my weary heart, Just to see through the eyes of a child.
I could see right, no wrong. I could see good, no bad. I could see all the good things, In life I've ever had. If I could see the world, Through the eyes of a child. What a wonderful world this would be.

a poem by john masefield
Jan 18, 2009 | 1:36AM
Have seen dawn and sunset on moors and windy hills
Coming in solemn beauty like slow old tunes of Spain:
I have seen the lady April bringing in the daffodils,
Bringing the springing grass and the soft warm April rain.
I have heard the song of the blossoms and the old chant of the sea,
And seen strange lands from under the arched white sails of ships;
But the loveliest things of beauty God ever has showed to me
Are her voice, and her hair, and eyes, and the dear red curve of her lips.
~ John Masefield ~
another of my favorite poems.

happy birthday sis
Jan 16, 2009 | 2:58PM
when she flies...dolly parton
She's been there, God knows, she's been there She has seen and done it all She's a woman, she know how to Dish it out or take it all Her heart's as soft as feathers Still she weathers stormy skies And she's a sparrow when she's broken But she's an eagle when she flies
A kaleidoscope of colors You can toss her around and round You can keep her in you vision But you'll never keep her down She's a lover, she's a mother She's a friend and she's a wife And she's a sparrow when she's broken But she's an eagle when she flies
Gentle as the sweet magnolia Strong as steel, her faith and pride She's an everlasting shoulder She's the leaning post of life She hurts deep and when she weeps She's just as fragile as a child And she's a sparrow when she's broken But she's an eagle when she flies
She's a sparrow when she's broken But she's an eagle when she flies Oh, bless her, lord She's an eagle when she flies
A sister is one of the nicest things that can happen to anyone.
She is someone to laugh with and share with,
to work with and join in the fun.
She is someone who helps in the rough times
and knows when you need a warm smile.
She is someone who will quietly listen
when you just want to talk for awhile.
A sister is dear to you always,
for she is someone who is always a part
of all the favorite memories that you keep very close to your heart.
all my love my dearest sister
may your day be blessed with sunshine and rainbows

sea fever
Jan 13, 2009 | 3:33AM
I must go down to the seas again, to the lonely sea and the sky, And all I ask is a tall ship, and a star to steer her by, And the wheel`s kick and the wind`s song and the white sail´s Shaking, And a grey mist on the sea`s face and a grey dawn breaking.
I must go down to the seas again, for the call of the running tide Is a wild call and clear call that may not be denied; And all I ask is a windy day with the white clouds flying, And the flung spray the blown spume, and the seagulls crying.
I must go down to the seas again, to the vagrant gypsy life, To the gull´s way and the whale´s way where the wind´s like a Whetted knife; And all I ask is a merry yarn from a laughing fellow rover, And quiet sleep and a sweet dream when the long trick´s over.
john masefield

this has always been one of my favorite poems. sometimes i can almost feel the spray of the waves.

a poem by william wordsworth
Jan 06, 2009 | 12:29PM
I wandered lonely as a cloud That floats on high o'er vales and hills, When all at once I saw a crowd, A host, of golden daffodils; Beside the lake, beneath the trees, Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
Continuous as the stars that shine And twinkle on the milky way, They stretched in never-ending line Along the margin of a bay: Ten thousand saw I at a glance, Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.
The waves beside them danced; but they Out-did the sparkling waves in glee: A poet could not but be gay, In such a jocund company: I gazed--and gazed--but little thought What wealth the show to me had brought:
For oft, when on my couch I lie In vacant or in pensive mood, They flash upon that inward eye Which is the bliss of solitude; And then my heart with pleasure fills, And dances with the daffodils.

friendship

A friend is like a flower,
A rose to be exact.
Or maybe like a brand new gate,
That never comes unlatched.
A friend is like an owl,
Both beautiful and wise.
Or perhaps a friend is like a ghost,
Who's spirit never dies.
A friend is like those blades of grass,
You can never mow,
Standing tall and proud,
In a perfect little row.
A friend is like a heart
that goes Strong until the end.
Where would we be in this world,
If we didn't have a friend....
~Author Unknown~
i hope everyone has a beautiful day,
filled with sunshine,
friendship and flowers.
