Happy moments, praise God.
Difficult moments, seek God.
Quiet moments, worship God
Painful moments, trust God.
Every moment, thank God

Angel Wings
Oct 08, 2007 | 12:31PM
At the ending of the day when I'm weary

after a waterfall of tears have all been cried-

and I'm feeling like the skies will always be dreary-

nothing's there to fill the emptiness inside.

I lay my head upon my favorite pillow

just close my eyes to block all the sorrow-

wonderin' where I'll ever find the strength inside-

to do it all again- tomorrow.

And then I feel it-

inside me.

I feel it-

around me.

Like a gentle hand just wiped away the tears-

and held me close to wash away my fears.

It's you, my angel, watching over me.

And I know no matter what tomorrow brings,

You'll be here to wrap me in your angel wings-

your lovin' angel wings.

The sun comes up, it's time to face the day

and I think that things are going to be all right-

But as the day wears on my nerves begin to fray-

I feel the hollowness that creeps in every night.

And like clockwork all the tears begin to fall

As I look at my reflection in the glass-

the eyes looking back at me make me feel small-

and I ask, my God, how long's this going to last?

And then I feel it-

inside me.

I feel it-

around me.

Like a gentle hand just wiped away the tears-

and held me close to wash away my fears.

It's you, my angel, watching over me.

And I know no matter what tomorrow brings,

You'll be here to wrap me in your angel wings-

your lovin' angel wings. (Thank God for your angel wings)

Drinking at Work
Jan 31, 2007 | 11:56AM
The below are valid reasons as to why drinking should be allowed at work. If you use them wisely, you may even be able to convince your boss into allowing alcohol.

1. It's an incentive to show up.

2. It reduces stress.

3. It leads to more honest communications.

4. It reduces complaints about low pay.

5. It cuts down on time off because you can work with a hangover.

6. Employees tell management what they think, not what management wants to hear.

7. It helps save on heating costs in the winter.

8. It encourages carpooling.

9. Increases job satisfaction because if you have a bad job you don't care.

10. It eliminates vacations because people would rather come to work.

11. It makes fellow employees look better.

12. It makes the cafeteria food taste better.

13. Bosses are more likely to hand out raises when they are wasted.

14. Salary negotiations are a lot more profitable.

15. If something does something stupid on the job, it will be quickly forgo

I Cried
Jan 29, 2007 | 1:38PM
When you were 8 years old, your mom handed
you an ice cream. You thanked her by yelling at her and
telling her its the wrong kind.

When you were 9 years old, she paid for
piano lessons. You thanked her by never even
bothering to practice.

When you were 10 years old she drove
you all day, from soccer to football to one birthday
party after another. You thanked her by
jumping out of the car and never looking back.

When you were 11 years old, she took you
and your friends to the movies. You thanked
her by asking to sit in a different row.

When you were 12 years old, she warned
you not to watch certain TV shows. You thanked
her by waiting until she left the house.

When you were 13, she suggested a
haircut that was becoming. You thanked her by telling
her she had no taste.

When you were 14, she paid for a month
away at summer camp. You thanked her by
not writing a single letter.

When you were 15, she came home from
work, looking for a hug. You thanked her by
having your bedroom door locked.

When you were 16, she taught you how to
drive her car. You thanked her by taking it every
chance you could.

When you were 17, she was expecting an
important call. You thanked her by being
on the phone all night.

When you were 18, she cried at your high
school graduation. You thanked her by staying
out partying until dawn.

When you were 19, she paid for your
college tuition, drove you to campus carried your
bags. You thanked her by saying good-bye
outside the dorm so you wouldn't be embarrassed in
front of your friends.

When you were 25, she helped to pay for
your wedding, and she cried and told you how
deeply she loved you. You thanked her by
moving halfway across the country.

When you were 50, she fell and
needed you to take care of her. You thanked
her by reading about the burden parents
become to their children.

And then, one day, she quietly died. And
everything you never did came crashing
down like
thunder on YOUR HEART.

A Joke
Jan 22, 2007 | 5:10AM

IF A MAN cuts his finger off
while slicing salami at work,

he blames the restaurant.

If you smoke three packs a day for 40 years and die of

Lung cancer,

your family blames the tobacco company.

If your neighbor crashes into a tree while driving home drunk, he blames the bartender.

If your grandchildren are brats without manners,

you blame television.

If your friend is shot by a deranged madwoman,

?

You blame the gun manufacturer.

And if a crazed person breaks into the cockpit and tries to kill the pilot at 35,000 feet, and the passengers kill him instead, the mother of the crazed deceased blames the airline.

I must have lived too long to understand the world as it is anymore.

So, if I die while my old, wrinkled ass is parked in front of this computer,

I want all of you to blame Bill Gates... okay

Edinbugh Zoo
Jan 15, 2007 | 9:34AM

About the Zoo

Edinburgh Zoo is owned by The Royal Zoological Society of Scotland, a registered conservation and education charity, SC 004064. The Society was founded in March 1909, and the Zoo opened in July 1913. We acquired the Highland Wildlife Park at Kincraig near Aviemore, in 1986. Please click here for more about the History of the Zoo.

Edinburgh Zoo is one of Europe's leading centres of conservation, education and research. Our mission is

'to inspire and excite our visitors with the wonder of living animals, and so to promote the conservation of threatened species and habitats'

We work collectively with many other zoos and conservation agencies in the UK, Europe and around the world in co-ordinated Conservation programmes, to help ensure the survival of many threatened animal species. We also support various conservation projects in the wild through funding and expertise. Our extensive Education programme aims to raise awareness and understanding of the fragility of life on this planet, and our responsibility to help care for it. And we also support a range of targeted Research projects which are designed to enhance our understanding of animals' behavioural and physiological needs, with many useful consequences for conservation in the wild.

The Zoo is also one of Scotland's most successful visitor attractions, second only to Edinburgh Castle in terms of paying visitors, with over 650,000 a year. Open every day of the year including Christmas Day, we have four stars from the VisitScotland quality assurance scheme, and we work hard to offer our visitors a truly great day out. Please see our section on visitor information  for details of all our visitor facilities.

Set in 82 acres of sloping parkland, the Zoo is situated three miles to the west of Edinburgh city centre.  Apart from getting close to over 1,000 rare and beautiful animals there are many different ways to enjoy your day out.  You can enjoy a full range of eating experiences, several play areas, a fantastic gift shop, free hilltop safari rides and a busy programme of events and activities - ranging from keeper talks through to hands-on animal encounters.

Edinburgh Zoo is an active member of the following organisations:

British and Irish Association of Zoos and Aquariums (BIAZA)

World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA)

European Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA)

Association of Scottish Visitor Attractions (ASVA)

Explore Edinburgh
