Prayer request for my father please Jul 28, 2009 \| 3:01AM I don't usually ask for prayer requests but my father in Kentucky is in the Intensive Care Unit gravely ill. I got a call from one of my brothers last night and was told dad had been rushed to the hospital yesterday and the doctors didn't give him much hope... He has severe congestive heart failure (of course this has been ongoing) but he also has his 3rd bout with pneumonia in 4 years. He has refused to have a breathing tube all he has is oxygen. He has stated many times this is what he wants so the doctors can't go against his wishes. I wouldn't want that anyway because he doesn't. I don't know if he will be all right, it sounds very bad. I can't talk to him because he can't talk. Please those of you who pray do, and those who don't please send healing thoughts. Thank you

update

Thank you all so much for your prayers, positive thought and messages friends it means so much to me!! When I talked to his nurse this morning she told me he was better but still wasn't able to talk. His blood pressure was almost normal, it had been dangerously low. She said he had a good night and was still sleeping.. I called this afternoon and my brother said "there's someone here who wants to talk to you". Lo and behold my dad got on the phone :) He sounds strong, very lucid Etc. However, I do not want to hold onto false hopes like I did with my mother and brother Wayne who passed away. Please keep those prayers and positive thoughts coming they really help! Codger I totally understand about the praying.

CHF is a very fickle disease... both my parents have it... they are 89 and 86.... please keep us

Actually, I came to tell you that I enjoyed the new appplication that u put on Facebook. I sent a gold to some and already noticed that one of my friends has sent quite a few out already!!
But most importantly after I saw your very sad news, I want to let you my intense good thoughts sent your way for your father's health to improve!! If I believed in God, I certainly would pray intensely for you and him but since I don't I have only my best thoughts for you both. Maybe he (your father) with all the positive thoughts sent to him by all who care will help.
I have had cancer twice now and the last chemo, surgery and radiation was two years ago and so far so good!! Funny, even then I didn't pray! But I had good thoughts and not for one moment did I fear dying and many people said that was probably very healthy for my recovery...so I have been in remission for a whole two years!!!!
Sorry didnt mean to go on about myself but I guess that I just wanted to show you there is hope.

Thank you for your post Shirl it means a lot to me. One doesn't need to pray. I think sending the positive energy about healing is what prayers are all about, jmho.
Great about my app ty!! I actually made that when I first joined Face Book last Feb. or March.

Thank you all very much! I spoke with my father's nurse early yeaterday morning and he told me the DR. had ordered a new med which should help him breathe a lot better. I got a call from my brother in KY last night and he said dad ate all of his dinner sitting up, that is the first time since he has been in the hospital he's been able to eat by himself, let alone sit up and eat. He's far from out of the woods but right now he is improving :)

Lisa ,, im sorry your dad has to go through all that and the rest of your family as well. i send prayers .. real strong prayers to your fathers recovery. (and i really do pray) be strong for your dad so he can be too .dont worry bout us as much because were doing fine and we send you hope ,prayers and security . god bless ,, hopefully ,, your dads gonna be ok :) keep your chin up , your friend ~Al
