Temblor Oct. 17 1989-March 31-2009
Mar 31, 2009 | 7:29PM
Image and video hosting by TinyPic I am very sad yet relieved . Our cat Temblor had kidney failure. The vet did all he could (this has been going on for 2 years) and really she was fine. She was on a special diet, happy and watched carefully for any changes. I went away in Feb. for a 2 week job. When I returned I was shocked how much she had gone downhill in those 2 weeks. She looked as though she had lost 5 pounds, was weak, not eating much and miserable :( We did our best but the last week and 1/2 she became so weak we had to carry her to her litter box, she cried constantly, fell over. It was breaking my heart. It was also as though she went blind and deaf overnight, as well :( This evening we called the vet, not our cat vet because there was no way we would take her anywhere, that would have been so cruel!! Instead we called my horse vet who I adore. He agreed to come out and euthanise her. He does also work with dogs and cats so we had no qualms about him doing this. He was so sweet and gentle with her. She did not fight, nor cry, too weak. First he gave her a major tranquilizer in her right leg to relax her, and she went to sleep. That was new to me! Before I had seen cats put down with one major shot, often with horrid side effects, bless their hearts. When she was totally relaxed and in my husbands arms he administered the final shot in her other leg. My husband was in tears. I took Dr. Grey out to look at Dial so he could have 'alone' time with Temblor. We buried her in the backyard. It was hard, I will miss her terribly. Rest in peace little love...

I can hardly believe it but today is Temblor's 19th birthday :) We grew up together. She does have kidney troubles and a bit of arthritis but hey for 19 she is in great form. The vets are all amazed. Please stop by and wish her a happy day ;-)

In loving memory to Albert DCBAMI's and familie's beloved horse...
Aug 06, 2008 | 11:25PM
I am so sorry about Albert and his untimely death. I hope this gives you a place to come and share memories of your beloved horse and to find some solace knowing how much we all care about you Donna. I'll bet right now Albert and my beloved Amber are galloping around Rainbow Bridge together, kicking their heels up, and so happy to be free of pain.

Many hugs to you,
Lisa

Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Today my baby turned 5
Apr 30, 2007 | 3:11AM

You'd think I was talking about my child, but since I'll never be able to have kids because of a medical condition my horse Dial is 'my baby' :) Today is her 5th birthday. Theoretically she turned 5 on Jan. 1 because that is when all thoroughbred's birthdays are. But she was born on April 30. I've watched her grow and mature so much in the last year she's been with me. I'm so proud of her!! I bought her horse cookies (well she gets those anyway) but she'll get more today. I got 2 bags of carrots, and some apples. Today she'll totally pig out lol. I never thought when I first got her I could ever love another horse besides Amber. I was wrong. Happy Birthday my Fancy Miss Dial!!!!Smiley
