An elderly woman and her little granddaughter
Sep 08, 2006 | 11:27PM

An elderly woman and her little granddaughter, whose face was sprinkled with bright freckles, spent the day at the zoo.

Lots of children were waiting in line to get their cheeks painted by a local artist who was decorating them with tiger paws.

"You've got so many freckles, there's no place to paint!" a girl in the line said to the little girl.

Embarrassed, the little girl dropped her head. Her grandmother knelt down next to her. "I love your freckles. When I was a little girl I always wanted freckles," she said, while tracing her finger across the child's cheek. "Freckles are beautiful."

The girl looked up, "Really?"
"Of course," said the grandmother. "Why just name me one thing that's prettier than freckles."

The little girl thought for a moment, peered intensely into her grandma's face, and softly whispered,

" Wrinkles. "

how yodeling began
Sep 08, 2006 | 8:45PM
Have you ever wondered where and how yodeling began?
>
> Many years ago a man was traveling through the mountains of Switzerland.
>
>
> Nightfall was rapidly approaching and he had nowhere to sleep. He went
> up to a farmhouse and asked the farmer if he could spend the night. !
>
> The farmer told him that he could sleep in the barn.
>
> As the story goes, the farmer's daughter asked her father , "Who is that
> man going into the barn?"
>
> "That fellow traveling through," said the farmer. "needs a place to stay
> for the night, so, I told him he could sleep in the barn."
>
> The daughter said, "Perhaps he is hungry." So she prepared him a plate
> of food for him and then took it out to the barn.
>
> About an hour later, the daughter returned. Her clothing disheveled and
> straw in her hair. Straight up to bed she went.
>
> The farmer's wife was very observant. She then suggested that perhaps
> the man was thirsty. So she fetched a bottle of wine, took it out to the
> barn,! and she too did not return for an hour. Her clothing was askew,
> her blouse buttoned incorrectly. She also headed straight to bed.
>
> The next morning at sunrise the man in the barn got up and continued on
> his journey, waving to the farmer as he left.
>
> When the daughter awoke and learned that the visitor was gone, she broke
> into tears. "How could he leave without even saying goodbye," she cried.
> "We made such passionate love last night!"
>
> "What?" shouted the father as he angrily ran out of the house looking
> for the man, who by now was halfway up the mountain.
>
> The farmer screamed up at him, "I'm going to get you! You had sex with
> my daughter!"
>
> The man looked back down from the mountainside, cupped his hand next to
> his mouth, and yelled out.....

When Life Isn't Easy
Jun 25, 2006 | 8:04PM
When Life Isn't Easy,
May You Remember This...

May you know, in your heart,
That others are always thinking of you.
May you always have rainbows
That follow the rain.
May you celebrate
The wonderful things about you.
And when tomorrow comes,
May you do it all over again.
May you remember how full
Of smiles the days can be.
May you believe that what you search for,
You will see.
May you find time to smell the flowers,
And find time to share the beauty of you.
May you envision today as a gift,
And tomorrow as another.
May you add a meaningful page
To the diary of each new day,
And may you make
"living happily ever after"
Something that will really come true.
And may you always keep planting
The seeds of your dreams.
Because if you keep believing in them,
They'll keep trying their best ...
To blossom for you.

Don't be so busy adding up your troubles
That you forget to count your blessings.

The smallest deed done is
Greater than the best of intentions.

Love is a language that can be heard
By the deaf and seen by the blind.

A house is made of wooden beams.
A home is made of love and dreams.

To be a good friend open your ears
And heart more often than your mouth.

People don't care how much you know
Until they know how much you care.

Have A Beautiful Day
