~~~*** http://www.mealcall.org/meals-on-wheels/ny/albany.htm ***~~~~~ this morning,on christmas morning dec 25,2008 ~i had a phone call. i have a friend and he called me this morning. maybe God was sending a message. My friend calls me and says Al, i need your help in doing something , i need a hand .well, the kind of person i am , i didnt hesitate to come to his aid. also ,,i failed to ask my friend what he had planned . i hung up the phone after he told me ok thank you ,,ill be right over.i forgot to ask him . when he came to pick me up .. he said we need to go somewheres 1st .. um well ok but where are we going .? by now im beginning to get saomewhat curious yet leary lol so, in my mind ,im thinking hes goit a christmas gift for me as ill find out soon enough . ok well he drove us to a local church ,and there he introduces me to a friend of his , she is a (believe it or not , a silver haired lady) no, not mrs santa claus) but may as well be. ok well ,she is a member of the charity organization for "meals on wheels" . its a local community organization charity group. they donate time to deliver meals to elederly ,handicapped and to the local ppl whom are unable to move about and whatever now,, i told my friend prior a few weeks ago ,,i mentioned that id like to help someone around christmas and that in the future i may try to land a job in our local hospital so i can help others. he must have remembered this. so what he did was chat with this lady (we will call her mrs. claus) and she said it would be fine if i went along to assist . voluntarily of course. i agreed .. and we went in her office ,chatted a few minutes over coffee & a danish and i was off with my friend to help others .time went very fast as i we spend 4~5 hours in deliveries around town locally. the people really are appreciative of getting these meals,and they know most of the volunteers that handle this normally on a 1st name basis.i shared chats,,i seen the glow in thier eyes & of smiles on some of these ppl..one man grumbled as we ran low on pepper & salt. comical) and i enjoyed myself trememndously. ty for your time & merry christmas my friends.maybe you made someone smile today too. ~~~~story by dadio_1959~~~~ ( i just blogged it) as i thought it should be shared on christmas of 2008 *_* copy this link and paste it to your web browser ,it should appear ,then go to meals on wheels link ,and click >>> www.mealsonwheels.com ty :)
