THE U IN JESUS May JESUS be our valentine always...
Feb 13, 2009 | 1:00PM
THE U IN JESUS
Before U were thought of or time had begun, God stuck U in the name of His Son. And each time U pray, you'll see it's true, You can't spell out JesUs and not include U. You're a pretty big part of His wonderful name, For U, He was born; that's why He came. And His great love for U is the reason He died. It even takes U to spell crUcified. Isn't it thrilling and splendidly grand He rose from the dead, with U in His plan? The stones split away, the gold trUmpet blew, and this word resUrrection is spelled with a U. When JesUs left earth at His upward ascension, He felt there was one thing He just had to mention. 'Go into the world and tell them it's true That I love them all - Just like I love U.' So many great people are spelled with a U, Don't they have a right to know JesUs too? It all depends now on what U will do, He'd like them to know, But it all starts with U.
Will YOU pass it on. When Jesus died on the cross he was thinking of you! If you are one of the 7% who will stand up for him, forward this. 93% of people won't forward

TWELVE DAYS OF CHRISTMAS — Very interesting
Dec 18, 2008 | 3:35PM
TWELVE DAYS OF CHRISTMAS..
There is one Christmas Carol that has always baffled me. What in the world do leaping lords, French hens, Swimming swans, and especially the partridge who won’t come out Of the pear tree have to do with Christmas?
Today, I found out.
From 1558 until 1829, Roman Catholics in England were Not permitted to practice their faith openly. Someone During that era wrote this carol as a catechism song for young Catholics. It has two levels of meaning: the surface meaning Plus a hidden meaning known only to members of their church. Each Element in the carol has a code word for a religious reality Which the children could remember.
-The partridge in a pear tree was Jesus Christ.
-Two turtle doves were the Old and New Testaments.
Three French hens stood for faith, hope and love.
-The four calling birds were the four gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke & John.
-The five golden rings recalled the Torah or Law, the first five books of the Old Testament.
-The six geese a-laying stood for the six days of creation.
-Seven swans a-swimming represented the sevenfold gifts of the Holy Spirit–Prophesy, Serving, Teaching, Exhortation, Contribution, Leadership, and Mercy.
-The eight maids a-milking were the eight beatitudes.
-Nine ladies dancing were the nine fruits of the Holy Spirit–Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self Control.
-The ten lords a-leaping were the ten commandments.
-The eleven pipers piping stood for the eleven faithful disciples.
-The twelve drummers drumming symbolized the twelve points of belief in the Apostles’ Creed.
So there is your history for today. This knowledge was shared with me and I found it interesting and enlightening and now I know how that strange song became a Christmas Carol…
Merry (Twelve Days of) Christmas Everyone…..

Naughty or Nice?

Naughty or Nice?
AFA's 2008 listing of top retailers and how they recognize Christmas
Based on current advertising, below is a list of companies that avoid, ban, or use the term "Christmas" in their advertising. We urge you to contact the "naughty" companies by using the contact information provided below. We will continually update the list, so check back often.
Criteria - AFA reviewed up to four areas to determine if a company was "Christmas-friendly" in their advertising: print media (newspaper inserts), broadcast media (radio/television), website and/or personal visits to the store. If a company's ad has references to items associated with Christmas (trees, wreaths, lights, etc.), it was considered as an attempt to reach "Christmas" shoppers.
If a company uses the term "Christmas" on a regular basis, we consider that company Christmas-friendly.
A company may be removed from the "bad" list by providing documentation to AFA.
*A company may use "Christmas" sparingly in a single or unique product description, but as a company, does not recognize it.

WHY JESUS IS BETTER
Dec 16, 2008 | 10:34AM

WHY JESUS IS BETTER THAN SANTA CLAUS Author Unknown
| Santa lives at the North Pole. |
JESUS is everywhere. |
| Santa rides in a sleigh. |
JESUS rides on the wind and walks on the water. |
| Santa comes but once a year. |
JESUS is an ever present help. |
| Santa fills your stockings with goodies. |
JESUS supplies all your needs. |
| Santa comes down your chimney uninvited. |
JESUS stands at your door and knocks, and then enters your heart. |
| You have to wait in line to see Santa. |
JESUS is as close as the mention of His name. |
| Santa lets you sit on his lap. |
JESUS lets you rest in His arms. |
| Santa doesn't know your name, all he can say is "Hi little boy or girl, what's your name?". |
JESUS knew our name before we did. Not only does He know our name, He knows our address too. He knows our history and future and He even knows how many hairs are on our heads. |
| Santa has a belly like a bowl full of jelly. |
JESUS has a heart full of love. |
| All Santa can offer is HO HO HO. |
JESUS offers health, help and hope. |
| While Santa says "You better not cry". |
JESUS says "Cast all your cares on me for I care for you." |
| Santa's little helpers make toys. |
JESUS makes new life, mends wounded hearts, repairs broken homes and builds mansions. |
| While Santa puts gifts under your tree. |
JESUS became our gift and died on the tree. |
Its obvious there is really no comparison.
We need to remember WHO Christmas is all about.
We need to put Christ back in Christmas.
Jesus is still the reason for the season.
Yes, Jesus is better, He is even better than Santa Claus.
-Author Unknown
Twas the month before Christmas
When all through our land,
Not a Christian was praying
Nor taking a stand.
See the PC Police had taken away,
The reason for Christmas, why, no one could say.
The children were told by their schools not to sing,
About Shepherds and Wise Men and Angels and things.
It might hurt people's feelings, the teachers would say
December 25th is just a "Holiday".
Yet the shoppers were ready with cash, checks and credit
Pushing folks down to the floor just to get it!
CDs from Madonna, an X BOX, an I-pod
Something was changing, and it is quite odd!
Retailers promoted Ramadan and Kwanzaa
In hopes to sell books by Franken & Fonda.
As Targets were hanging their trees upside down
At Lowe's the word Christmas - was no where to be found.
At K-Mart and Staples and Penny's and Sears
You won't hear the word Christmas; it won't touch your ears.
Inclusive, sensitive, Di-ver-si-ty
Are words that were used to intimidate me.
Now Daschle, Now Darden, Now Sharpton, Wolf Blitzen
On Boxer, on Rather, on Kerry, on Clinton!
At the top of the Senate, there arose such a clatter
To eliminate Jesus, in all public matter.
And we spoke not a word, as they took away our faith
Forbidden to speak of salvation and grace
The true Gift of Christmas was exchanged and discarded
The reason for the season, stopped before it started.
So as you celebrate "Winter Break" under your "Dream Tree"
Sipping your Starbucks, listen to me.
Choose your words carefully, choose what you say
Shout MERRY CHRISTMAS,
not Happy Holiday!

Say "No" to the Secularization of Christmas!Focus Action's National Petition to Retailers: "I Stand for Christmas"
Total signers: 107,525 Movies mary Tossmas very good
For years, the retail industry has made a steady move to secularize the Christmas season. Many national retailers refuse to even use the word "Christmas" in their promotions. Focus on the Family Action has been monitoring this trend, which is part of a larger movement to purge Christian references from the public square. Many retailers are quite willing to take money from Christians but refuse to even acknowledge the Christian basis for Christmas! With more than 90 percent of Americans believing in and celebrating "Christmas," we believe it is time for the secularization of Christmas to end.
Tell Christmas-Purging Retailers: "I Stand for Christmas"
Focus Action has launched a nationwide grassroots campaign to challenge the secularization of Christmas. Called "I Stand for Christmas," Focus Action is using radio, e-mail and the Internet to ask concerned Christmas shoppers like you to sign a petition calling on retailers to stop purging Christmas.
"I Stand for Christmas" Petition States
I am troubled by the growing trend among retailers to secularize the Christmas season by marginalizing or refusing to use the word "Christmas" in marketing and promotional materials. Christmas is fundamentally a Christian holiday, and efforts to secularize Christmas are offensive.
I am joining Focus on the Family Action’s "I Stand for Christmas" campaign to call on retailers to stop purging "Christmas." I stand for Christmas, and I urge you to stand for Christmas as well by highlighting "Christmas" in your stores, catalogs and Web sites. Further, I plan to consult Focus on the Family Action's cus Action Shopping Guide: Where 33 Top Retailers Stand On Christmas Shopping Guide, which categorizes retailers by their treatment of "Christmas," while making my Christmas purchases this year. http://www.focuspetitions.com/175/petition.asp?PID=19149155&NID=1 movie hear

It's Strange, Isn't It?
Nov 18, 2008 | 9:31AM
It's Strange, Isn't It?
Isn't it strange how a 20 dollar bill seems like such a large amount when you donate it to church, but such a small amount when you go shopping?

Isn't it strange how 2 hours seem so long when you're at church, and how short they seem when you're watching a good movie?

Isn't it strange that you can't find a word to say when you're praying, but you have no trouble thinking what to talk about with a friend?

Isn't it strange how difficult and boring it is to read one chapter of the Bible, but how easy it is to read 100 pages of a popular novel or ZANE GREY book?

Isn't it strange how everyone wants front-row-tickets to concerts or games, but they do whatever is possible to sit at the last row in Church?

Isn't it strange how we need to know about an event for Church 2-3 weeks before the day so we can include it in our agenda, but we can adjust it for other events in the last minute?

Isn't it strange how difficult it is to learn a fact about God to share it with others, but how easy it is to learn, understand, extend and repeat gossip?

Isn't it strange how we believe everything that magazines and newspapers say, but we question the words in the Bible?

Isn't it strange how everyone wants a place in heaven, but they don't want to believe, do, or say anything to get there?

Isn't it strange how we send jokes in e-mails and they are forwarded right away, but when we are going to send messages about God, we think about it twice before we share it with others?

It's Strange, Isn't It?
Now that you've read this message, show it to anybody that you consider a friend, family member or foe. If you don't do it not only you will deprive yourself from being blessed, but you will also do that to others who may need God in their life.

Teenage Rules
Nov 14, 2008 | 9:53AM
Teenager Rules ......Raising teenagers is a challenge, so my hubby and I came up with the following rules to help the kids understand what was expected of them during their pre-adult status.
Rules of This Household
1. If you are not here for dinner, too bad. This is not a fast-food place where the cook is on duty at all times. The cook works full time and does not need a second job.
2. If you make a mess, clean it up. The dishwasher is open 24 hours a day to service you as are the vacuum, broom, and sponge. Please help them to help you by using them. If you need assistance, ask the cook -- she will be happy to give you training on any of the equipment.
3. The taxi service for this household is not on call 24 hours. You must make reservations at least 12 hours in advance. You have two good legs, skateboards, and bikes that are somewhat operational; one of you has a vehicle that works. Use them. By the way, skateboards are to be used on the outside of this house and are never to be used in the living room just because the landing is softer when you fall.
4. We are not a bank and you have no collateral to offer us. Face it: We own everything you have and I have receipts to prove it, so don't ask us for loans. Get jobs! We have them. Try it and you might like it (not so much the work as the money).
5. Curfew is negotiable, but try not to be late too often because it could go either way.
6. Tell us where you are going. GOOD GRIEF! I am way older than you, and I still tell my mother where I am going when I am at her house. Leave us a note or try to form words describing where you are going while we are in the room with you. Honestly, we don't bite unless provoked.
7. You know how to use a phone. Some of you even have cell phones. We like to hear your voice if you are going to be late. You can use a phone to find out what's for dinner, to let us know you made it to wherever all right, or just to let us hear your beautiful voice.
8. No food in your room, the living room, the bathroom, or anywhere in the house other than the kitchen or dining area EVER! How many times do I have to say this?
9. You do not contribute financially in any way, shape, or form to this household, so try to pull your weight in other ways: Clean something, put something away, surprise us by doing it before we ask. Otherwise, you may find yourself financially supporting yourself on the OUTSIDE of this house. If you have any more to add please post them... do you like these rules???
